Why it stands out
The 2017 Honda Ridgeline sets itself apart in the pickup market with its distinctive unibody construction, which provides a car-like ride and handling that is rarely found in traditional body-on-frame trucks. This innovative design not only enhances comfort but also improves functionality, making it suitable for various lifestyles. The interior is spacious and thoughtfully designed, featuring high-quality materials and practical storage solutions like a versatile rear seating arrangement and an under-bed trunk, ideal for storing tools or other gear.
Despite its light-duty classification, the Ridgeline's 3.5-liter V6 engine delivers adequate power for everyday needs, while the all-wheel-drive option ensures better handling in adverse conditions. However, it falls short in towing capacity compared to its rivals like the Toyota Tacoma and Chevrolet Colorado, making it less appealing for heavy-duty tasks. Nevertheless, buyers who prioritize comfort, versatility, and innovative features will find the 2017 Ridgeline a compelling choice, especially for urban living and recreational use.

We were looking for a truck for light hauling. Not for off-road. And I didn’t want to truck that looked all tricked out and masculine. I wanted a smooth ride, and a functional truck. We ruled out other midsize trucks because they rode like a truck. And as a passenger, the ride was unsettling. I prefer a ride like butter. Then we found the Honda Ridgeline. Because it is built different than the other midsize trucks, basically a truck body or an SUV base, it rides as smooth as silk. It doesn’t look like I’m trying to be young, or masculine or tough. It’s a classy looking little truck. The electronics inside blow me away. All of the safety features, and the space inside the backseat. It was exactly what we were looking for. I just didn’t know it existed until I found the Ridgeline.
