Why it stands out
The 2017 Honda Ridgeline is a unique entry in the pickup market, equipped with a unibody construction that provides a more car-like ride compared to traditional body-on-frame trucks. This design is complemented by practical features like the under-bed trunk and versatile cargo bed setup, which enhances utility without sacrificing comfort. Owners have praised its smooth driving experience, with a well-insulated cabin that rivals some luxury vehicles. While it's less optimal for heavy towing compared to competitors like the Toyota Tacoma or Chevrolet Colorado, the Ridgeline excels in everyday usability and comfort, making it an excellent choice for those who prioritize ride quality and innovative storage solutions over maximum towing capacity. Expert reviews highlight the truck's balanced performance, high-quality materials, and the inclusion of modern technology features, making the Ridgeline an appealing option for a broad range of buyers.

We were looking for a truck for light hauling. Not for off-road. And I didn’t want to truck that looked all tricked out and masculine. I wanted a smooth ride, and a functional truck. We ruled out other midsize trucks because they rode like a truck. And as a passenger, the ride was unsettling. I prefer a ride like butter. Then we found the Honda Ridgeline. Because it is built different than the other midsize trucks, basically a truck body or an SUV base, it rides as smooth as silk. It doesn’t look like I’m trying to be young, or masculine or tough. It’s a classy looking little truck. The electronics inside blow me away. All of the safety features, and the space inside the backseat. It was exactly what we were looking for. I just didn’t know it existed until I found the Ridgeline.
