How much does the 2017 Honda Civic cost?

Prices have softened 2.28% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,692 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of options to compare.

Is the 2017 Honda Civic a good car?

Yes — the 4.75/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its reliability, great gas mileage, and enjoyable features, while also highlighting its impressive handling and spacious interior. That makes it a strong fit if you want a compact car that works well for daily driving without feeling cramped. With 31.1% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a meaningful chance to find attractive pricing.

Is the 2017 Honda Civic reliable?

Owners rate it 4.75/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback emphasizes reliability, and it also points to trouble-free ownership for many drivers who value dependable transportation. That said, used buyers should still think in terms of long-term ownership risk and verify maintenance history carefully, especially on higher-mileage examples.

What should I look for when buying a used 2017 Honda Civic?

At 45.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report before you commit, then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection from a trusted mechanic. Focus on condition details that matter most on this model year, including signs of prior body damage, evidence of inconsistent maintenance, and any issues with electronics or climate control operation.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Honda Civic?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 31.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,692 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.28% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 45.7% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $14,869, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Honda Civic's resale value?

The current average of $15,107 sits slightly below last year's $15,459.

That suggests the market has eased a bit, which can help you buy more carefully now but may also limit short-term upside if you plan to resell soon. If you want to protect future value, condition and documentation matter a lot, because buyers tend to pay more for clean, well-kept examples with a clear history. Strong owner satisfaction also helps keep demand steady.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.75/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Honda Civic or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 31.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 45.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.28% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.75/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2016 if:

• At $13,824, the 2016 costs less than the current year's $15,107 average.
• It feels more polished while keeping the Civic’s thrift and dependability.

The bottom line: If you want the stronger all-around market position, the 2017 is the better primary target because it combines solid owner satisfaction, broad inventory, and a softer price trend. If your main goal is to spend less up front, the 2016 is the better secondary path, especially if you find one in excellent condition with a clean history.
