Is the 2017 Ford Taurus a good car?

Generally — the 2017 Ford Taurus earns a 4.4/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners commonly praise its comfortable ride, stylish look, and strong performance, especially in SHO form. It also fits well if you want a spacious full-size sedan with available all-wheel drive and a long list of features rather than the newest or most exciting design in the segment. With 26.5% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2017 Ford Taurus reliable?

Owners rate it 4.4/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback also points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience for many drivers, with praise centered on comfort and everyday usability. At the same time, some owners mention concerns about potential coolant issues, so you should treat maintenance history as part of the reliability picture. For used buyers, that means long-term ownership risk looks manageable if the car has been cared for properly, but a thorough pre-purchase check is still important.

What should I look for when buying a used 2017 Ford Taurus?

At 57.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and confirm whether any reported damage was repaired properly. Put inspection priority on body panels, alignment, tires, and signs of uneven wear, since those can reveal past collision work or neglected maintenance. You should also focus on overall condition and service records, especially if you want a Taurus that can deliver the comfort and feature set owners tend to value most.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Ford Taurus?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 26.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 502 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.38% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 57.6% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $11,088, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Ford Taurus's resale value?

The current average of $11,088 sits slightly below last year's $11,972.

That price movement suggests the Taurus has already absorbed some of its depreciation, which can help if you buy at the right number and later resell after a reasonable ownership period. The market is also showing enough inventory to keep pricing competitive, so condition and history will matter a lot when it comes time to sell. Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.4/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Ford Taurus or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 26.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 57.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.38% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.4/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: You should focus on the 2017 if you want a roomy full-size sedan with strong owner approval and a market that still offers some value opportunities. If you are especially price-sensitive, a nearby model year may be worth comparing, but the 2017 remains the better path when you want a balance of comfort, features, and current market pricing.
