Is the 2017 Dodge Grand Caravan a good car?

Generally — the 4.4/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction for this model year. Owners consistently praise the spacious Stow ’n Go seating, the practical family-friendly layout, and the value you get for the money. The overview also highlights easy entry and exit plus comfortable seating for adults in all rows, which makes it especially appealing if you want a minivan that works well for daily family use and cargo hauling. Is the 2017 Dodge Grand Caravan reliable?

Owners rate it 4.4/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The user feedback points to a dependable ownership experience for many drivers, especially around the van’s useful features and overall value. At the same time, some owners mention durability concerns, so you should treat condition and maintenance history as especially important on a used example. For long-term ownership, the biggest risk is buying one that has been worn down by age and heavy family use without proper upkeep.

What should I look for when buying a used 2017 Dodge Grand Caravan?

At 63.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can confirm accident records, title status, and ownership patterns before you go any further. After that, prioritize a thorough inspection of the body, suspension, and interior wear, since age and family-duty use can show up in multiple places. It also makes sense to focus on overall condition and maintenance evidence rather than mileage alone.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Dodge Grand Caravan?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can be choosy if you’re patient and compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 28.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,469 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.97% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 63.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $10,064, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Dodge Grand Caravan's resale value?

The current average of $10,308 sits slightly below last year's $10,734.

That softer pricing suggests the model has been losing some value, which can be a disadvantage if you plan to sell soon. On the other hand, the lower entry price can help keep demand steady among shoppers who want maximum utility for less money. If you buy carefully and keep the van in strong condition, you may be able to limit the hit when it’s time to resell.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.4/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Dodge Grand Caravan or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 28.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 63.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.97% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.4/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2017 is the right pick if you want the strongest mix of value, practicality, and current market pricing in this range. If you’re especially price-sensitive, you can also compare nearby years to see whether a cleaner or cheaper example better fits your budget, but the 2017 remains a sensible primary target for shoppers focused on utility and affordability.
