Used 2017 Chevrolet Traverse for Sale near New York

How much does the 2017 Chevrolet Traverse cost?

Prices have softened 10.87% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,883 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of options to compare.

Is the 2017 Chevrolet Traverse a good car?

Yes — the 2017 Chevrolet Traverse earns a 4.8/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its space, comfort, and style, and many also like the powerful performance and available all-wheel drive. That lines up well with its family-focused role as a roomy three-row crossover with a huge cabin, usable third row, and minivan-like cargo capacity. With 28.3% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a decent chance of finding a value-oriented example.

Is the 2017 Chevrolet Traverse reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The user feedback points to a vehicle that many owners find dependable in daily use, especially for space, comfort, and all-weather confidence. That said, the broader ownership picture still calls for caution because used examples can vary widely in condition and maintenance history. For long-term ownership, your risk is mostly tied to how well a specific vehicle has been cared for, so a careful pre-purchase check matters.

What should I look for when buying a used 2017 Chevrolet Traverse?

At 60.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and confirm whether the listing has any accident, title, or ownership issues. Then prioritize a thorough inspection of the drivetrain, electrical systems, steering, and transmission, since those are the areas that deserve the most attention on this model year. Focus on overall condition and maintenance records, because a clean, well-kept example is the safest way to reduce used-car risk.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Chevrolet Traverse?

This looks like a moderate market, so you can shop selectively without expecting a deep buyer’s market.

• Deal availability: 28.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,883 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.87% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 60.1% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $10,042, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Chevrolet Traverse's resale value?

The current average of $10,166 sits slightly below last year's $11,405.

That softer pricing suggests the model has already absorbed a meaningful amount of depreciation, which can help limit further downside if you buy at the right price. For a future seller, that means your best protection is choosing a clean, well-maintained example and avoiding overpaying today. Strong demand for roomy, comfortable family SUVs can help, but resale will still depend heavily on condition and mileage.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Chevrolet Traverse or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 28.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 60.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.87% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2018 if:

• At $14,919, the 2018 costs more than the current year's $10,166 average.
• The redesign brings a larger, more useful, and more efficient package.

The bottom line: If you want the lower purchase price and strong owner satisfaction, the 2017 is the better value play. If you can stretch your budget and want the redesign’s added size and efficiency, the 2018 is the stronger upgrade path; otherwise, the 2017 remains the smarter choice for price-sensitive buyers.
