How much does the 2017 Chevrolet Suburban cost?

Prices have softened 9.86% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,299 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of options to compare.

Is the 2017 Chevrolet Suburban a good car?

With a user rating of 3.75/5, the 2017 Chevrolet Suburban makes sense if you want a big, traditional full-size SUV focused on space, towing ability, and family-friendly utility. It offers up to nine-passenger seating, available rear-wheel drive or four-wheel drive, and up to 8,300 pounds of towing capacity when properly configured.

It also brings useful family-oriented features such as automatic emergency braking, a rear-seat reminder system, and Teen Driver technology, along with available safety and infotainment equipment that fits its role as a well-equipped large SUV. At the same time, its size and thirsty gas engines mean it works best if you value capability and room over easy parking or efficiency.

Market availability: 32.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.

Is the 2017 Chevrolet Suburban reliable?

The 2017 Chevrolet Suburban is built around the strengths of this generation: a refined interior, strong utility, and a long list of available convenience and safety features. It is a straightforward choice if you want a large SUV that prioritizes passenger room and hauling ability.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that a vehicle this large and capable can become expensive to live with if prior maintenance was inconsistent or if wear items were neglected.

What should I look for when buying a used 2017 Chevrolet Suburban?

At 55.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report before you commit, then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that checks for prior body repairs, suspension wear, and signs of poor maintenance. Focus closely on overall condition, because a large SUV like this can hide expensive issues if you only judge it by appearance or mileage.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Chevrolet Suburban?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you have room to compare listings and wait for the right one.

• Deal availability: 32.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,299 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.86% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 55.6% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $19,140, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Chevrolet Suburban's resale value?

The current average of $19,140 sits slightly below last year's $21,234.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can help you buy more selectively today. For a future seller, it also means resale value may depend heavily on condition, mileage, and documentation, since buyers have plenty of comparable listings to choose from.

Should I buy a 2017 Chevrolet Suburban or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 32.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 55.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.86% compared with last year.

The bottom line: The 2017 is a strong pick if you want the Suburban’s core strengths — space, towing, and family utility — with a market that currently gives you some negotiating room. If you are especially price-sensitive, you can also compare nearby years to see whether a similar-condition example offers a better deal, but the 2017 remains a sensible target when you want a roomy, capable full-size SUV.
