How much does the 2016 Chevrolet Suburban cost?

Prices have softened 10.14% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,241 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2016 Chevrolet Suburban a good car?

Generally — the 2016 Chevrolet Suburban earns a 4.2/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Drivers repeatedly praise its spaciousness, family-friendly features, and ability to work well as a reliable family vehicle. The overview also shows why it fits your needs if you want a big SUV that can carry up to nine people, handle cargo with its fold-flat third row, and serve as a practical all-around family hauler. With 31.9% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2016 Chevrolet Suburban reliable?

Owners rate it 4.2/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback highlights it as reliable and family-friendly, with some drivers specifically describing it as a dependable family vehicle. That said, a few owners mention concerns with the transmission, so you should pay close attention to service records and how the vehicle drives on a test route. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is ending up with a well-used example that has unresolved mechanical or maintenance issues.

What should I look for when buying a used 2016 Chevrolet Suburban?

At 53.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report on any candidate you’re serious about, especially if the price looks unusually attractive. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that checks for body repairs, suspension wear, and any signs of unresolved climate control issues. Focus on overall condition and maintenance documentation, since a large SUV like this can hide expensive repair needs if it has been neglected.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Chevrolet Suburban?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient and compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 31.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,241 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.14% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 53.6% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $17,030, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 Chevrolet Suburban's resale value?

The current average of $17,030 sits slightly below last year's $18,951.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favorable point if you plan to keep the vehicle for a while. For a future seller, that also means resale value may depend more on condition, mileage, and documentation than on broad market momentum. Well-kept examples should still attract interest because shoppers in this segment often value space and utility over flash.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.2/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Chevrolet Suburban or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 31.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 53.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.14% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.2/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: You should lean toward the 2016 if you want a well-equipped full-size SUV with strong owner approval and a softer price than last year. If you’re especially price-sensitive, nearby model years may also be worth comparing, but the 2016 stands out as a balanced choice when you want space, family utility, and a market that currently gives you some negotiating room.
