Used 2017 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 for Sale near Colorado

How much does the 2017 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 cost?

Prices have softened 8.47% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 6,741 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2017 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 a good car?

Generally — the 4.24/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction for this truck. Drivers commonly praise its power, comfortable cabin, and spaciousness, and many also like the feature set and decent fuel efficiency for a full-size pickup. In practical terms, it fits you well if you want a capable truck that still works for everyday use, but the 30.9% share of good or great deals suggests you should shop carefully to separate the strongest listings from the rest.

Is the 2017 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.24/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback also describes it as reliable, dependable, and a truck many owners feel they can count on over time. That said, some reviews mention rust concerns and pricing frustrations, so you should still focus on maintenance records and overall condition rather than relying on reputation alone.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that a truck with a strong owner-satisfaction profile can still hide costly wear if it has been worked hard or poorly maintained.

What should I look for when buying a used 2017 Chevrolet Silverado 1500?

At 62.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and confirm whether any reported damage lines up with the truck’s current condition. A pre-purchase inspection should focus on body condition, signs of rust, and how the truck drives and shifts, since those details can reveal issues that photos and listings may miss. If you are comparing multiple trucks, prioritize the cleanest maintenance history and the most consistent wear patterns.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Chevrolet Silverado 1500?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you have room to shop, but the best listings can still move quickly.

• Deal availability: 30.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 6,741 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.47% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 62.2% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $20,770, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Chevrolet Silverado 1500's resale value?

The current average of $20,770 sits slightly below last year's $22,691.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can help you buy more affordably now but may also limit short-term upside if you plan to resell soon. For a future seller, the key is to buy a well-kept truck at a competitive price so you have less depreciation left to absorb. Strong condition and a clean history matter more when the broader market is already trending lower.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.24/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 30.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 62.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.47% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.24/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2017 makes sense if you want a full-size Silverado with strong owner approval and a softer market price than last year, especially if you can verify a clean history and solid maintenance. If you are especially price-sensitive, a nearby year with a lower asking price may be worth comparing, but the 2017 is the better path when you want a balanced mix of value, inventory, and owner satisfaction.
