How much does the 2017 Chevrolet Equinox cost?

There are 3,185 listings available, which suggests solid inventory for comparison shopping.

Is the 2017 Chevrolet Equinox a good car?

Yes — the 2017 Chevrolet Equinox earns a 4.8/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners commonly praise the spacious interior, smooth ride, and good value for the price, and they also appreciate comfort features like heated seats and the vehicle’s overall dependability. For you, that makes it a sensible choice if you want a compact crossover with a roomy cabin and an easygoing character. With 29.7% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still room to shop selectively.

Is the 2017 Chevrolet Equinox reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owner feedback highlights dependability, and many drivers describe the Equinox as a vehicle they can count on for everyday use. The same feedback also points to a comfortable, trouble-free ownership experience for many shoppers. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that early third-generation examples drew more complaints about mechanical problems, so condition and maintenance history matter.

What should I look for when buying a used 2017 Chevrolet Equinox?

At 61.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and confirm whether any prior damage was repaired properly. A pre-purchase inspection should get priority, especially if the listing price looks unusually attractive. Focus on overall condition, maintenance records, and signs of mechanical wear so you can separate a clean example from one that may carry extra risk.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Chevrolet Equinox?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 29.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.

If you find a listing below $9,967, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Chevrolet Equinox's resale value?

The current average of $9,967 sits slightly below last year's $10,722.

That price movement suggests the market has softened, which can make resale a little more competitive for future sellers. If you own one for a few years, you may need to price it carefully to stand out against similar listings. Strong condition and a clean history will matter more when buyers have plenty of choices.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Chevrolet Equinox or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 29.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 61.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.04% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2018 if:

• At $12,160, the 2018 costs more than the current year's $9,967 average.
• It shifts to a smaller, more compact footprint for a clearer crossover identity.

The bottom line: You should lean toward the 2017 if you want the lower price and strong owner satisfaction. If you can spend more and want the newer redesign, the 2018 is the better secondary path for buyers who prioritize the updated package over value.
