The 2SS has everything you could want as far as extra features. Beautiful leather interior, ambient lighting, heated & cooled seats, navigation, heads up display. The visibility in a Camaro takes some getting used to and there’s not much of a backseat. Other than that, set up like a race car with no extra storage or door pockets. It’s a beautiful car. This one is a 50th anniversary edition with the Fifty emblem on the steering wheel. This isn’t the car you want for good gas mileage with the V8. It sounds good with the dual exhaust. This car is prettier in person because the carbon fiber panels don’t show up well in photos.

| Year-Round High | $24,604.03 |

Prices are up 2.54% year-over-year — a sign of continued demand for this model year.
There are 1,213 listings available, which gives you a decent amount of choice while you shop.
If you find a listing below $21,923.40, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
Is the 2017 Chevrolet Camaro a good car?
Yes — with a 4.74/5 user rating and an 8.17/10 expert rating, you’re looking at a car that resonates strongly with both owners and testers. The standout strength is Performance at 10/10.
Owners consistently praise the Camaro’s stunning looks, impressive power, and thrilling acceleration. They also call out the smooth ride and advanced technology, while the overview reinforces its blend of performance, style, and tech for driving enthusiasts.
For you, that means the Camaro makes the most sense if you want a sports car that prioritizes excitement over practicality. The 28.6% good-or-great-deal share suggests there are still some attractive opportunities in the market.
Is the 2017 Chevrolet Camaro reliable?
Owners rate it 4.74/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
The owner summary points to a car that many drivers enjoy for its thrilling performance, smooth ride, and overall appeal, with repeated praise for the way it delivers on the Camaro promise. It also suggests the car is one you can count on for the kind of driving experience buyers expect from this nameplate.
The expert drive notes reinforce that dependability in a performance sense, describing the car as dynamically superlative and emphasizing how confidently it handles hard driving. The cost-effectiveness notes also frame the Camaro as a serious value proposition for the performance it delivers.
For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that the same performance hardware and sporty setup can make upkeep, tires, and everyday livability more demanding than in a mainstream car.
What should I look for when buying a used 2017 Chevrolet Camaro?
At 56.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the car has been driven hard or modified. Pay close attention to body condition, tire wear, brake wear, and signs of track use or cosmetic repair.
Key things to evaluate:
- Trim level: The cabin is described as more restrained than some rivals, but with nicer interior materials and a clear driver-focused layout. The 1LE package adds a matte-finish hood, black front splitter, black side mirrors, a black rear lip spoiler, and Satin Graphite wheels.
- Powertrain: The SS uses a 6.2-liter V8 with 455 horsepower and 455 pound-feet of torque. The 1LE package adds magnetic ride control, upgraded cooling, staggered-width performance tires, and Brembo brakes.
- Safety package: Teen Driver is included, and standard equipment includes a reversing camera. Available features include blind-spot warning with lane-change assist, rear cross-traffic alert, and rear parking-assist sensors.
- Infotainment: The Camaro uses an 8-inch touchscreen with MyLink, plus Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It also includes a heads-up display and a Performance Data Recorder.
- Fuel efficiency: The test vehicle averaged 18.6 mpg on one loop and 16.5 mpg over a week, while the combined estimate is 19 mpg. The cost-effectiveness notes say the LS with the 1LE package should return 20 mpg in combined driving.
Which 2017 Chevrolet Camaro trim should I buy?
The 2017 Chevrolet Camaro is offered in 4 trim levels: LS, LT, SS, ZL1.
Here's the short version:
- Base trim: The LS is the entry point, but the safety content makes clear that automatic emergency braking and automatic steering aids are not part of the package.
- Sweet-spot trim: The LT is the best place to balance everyday usability and Camaro character if you want more than the base setup without chasing the highest-performance hardware.
- Premium/top trim: The SS is the standout if you want the strongest performance and the most complete enthusiast experience, especially with the 1LE package.
- Off-road trim: The 1LE package is a track-focused upgrade, so it makes less sense if your driving is mostly daily commuting.
Teen Driver is a useful safety-package note if you’re shopping for a Camaro that may be shared with newer drivers.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Chevrolet Camaro?
You should act selectively, because this is a seller’s market rather than a bargain-bin one.
- Deal availability: 28.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 1,213 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices are up 2.54% year-over-year.
- Clean inventory: 56.3% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $21,923.40, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2017 Chevrolet Camaro's resale value?
The current average of $24,599 sits slightly above last year's $23,989.
That upward move suggests the Camaro is holding buyer interest well, which can help support resale value if you buy carefully and keep the car in strong condition. The market is also showing enough demand to keep prices firm, especially for cleaner examples and better-equipped trims.
If you choose a well-kept car with desirable equipment, you’re more likely to preserve value than if you buy a rougher example with accident history or heavy wear.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.74/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Is the 2017 Chevrolet Camaro safe?
It earns a five-star rating from the federal government, and in testing by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, it gets dinged for Acceptable roof strength rather than Good.
It earns a 8/10 safety score from our experts.
The Camaro includes Teen Driver and a standard reversing camera. Available driver-assistance features include blind-spot warning with lane-change assist, rear cross-traffic alert, and rear parking-assist sensors.
The main caveat is that it does not include automatic braking or automatic steering aids, so you should not expect the kind of active safety tech you’d find in some newer rivals.
Should I buy a 2017 Chevrolet Camaro or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2017 if:
- 28.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- At 56.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
- Price trend: Prices are up 2.54% year-over-year.
- Owners rate it 4.74/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
- The 2017 stands out for its 8.17/10 expert rating and 10/10 performance score.
Consider the 2016 if:
- At $23,206, the 2016 costs less than the current year's $24,599 average.
- It offers a refined redesign with upgraded interior ergonomics and modern tech.
The bottom line: If you want the strongest mix of performance, owner satisfaction, and market support, the 2017 is the better all-around pick. If your priority is spending less up front, the 2016 is the smarter value play, especially if you can find a clean example with the features you want.
