What is the 2017 BMW M3's resale value?

The current average of $45,086 sits slightly above last year's $43,501.

That upward move suggests the market has been willing to pay more for this model year, which can help support resale strength if you buy well and keep the car in good condition. The year-round range also shows that values have room to move depending on mileage, condition, and history. If you plan to sell later, a clean record and strong maintenance history should help you stay closer to the top of the market.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 BMW M3 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 33.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 58.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices are up 3.64% year-over-year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want the strongest mix of performance, practicality, and market support, the 2017 is a solid primary target. If you’re more price-sensitive, you should still compare nearby years and focus on the cleanest, best-documented example rather than chasing the lowest sticker price.
