Why it stands out
The 2017 Acura TLX is a competitive entry in the luxury sports sedan market, effectively replacing both the TSX and TL models. One of its key strengths is the varied powertrain options, offering a choice between a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine and a more powerful 3.5-liter V6, both paired with smooth automatic transmissions. Owners particularly appreciate the TLX for its refined ride quality and sport-oriented handling, which make it a joy to drive on winding roads.
Though some have noted transmission performance issues in eco and normal modes, the smooth operation in sport mode tends to compensate for this. Highlights include a beautifully designed interior packed with quality materials, which enhances the overall driving experience. The Acura TLX also benefits from its mid-size stature, striking a balance between direct competitors like the Audi A4 and BMW 3 Series, making it appealing for buyers looking for both luxury and sportiness in their next vehicle.

Very responsive especially in sport+mode and shift manually. All wheel drive sticks to the road. Abosb bumpy roads like a champ. The brakes can use some improvement though. The transmission will hesitate in eco and normal mode. Just use sport and sport+ and itll take care of it. Although you can totally tell the difference in ride quality in each mode. 25 mpg all around for a V6 is not too bad. Very quiet interior. The upgraded sound system sounds better with Spotify than FM (with subscription gives you higher quality streaming). Would love to have Android Auto for Google Maps, but not offer till 2018. Wish we can retrofit the software. But overall, very happy with its value, performance and comfort.
