How much does the 2016 Toyota RAV4 cost?

Prices are up 1.15% year-over-year — a sign of continued demand for this model year.

There are 2,630 listings available, which gives you a solid pool to compare prices and conditions.

Is the 2016 Toyota RAV4 a good car?

Yes — the 4.6/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its reliability, fuel efficiency, and comfortable ride, and they also call out its safety features as a major strength. That fits a practical compact SUV buyer who wants useful everyday transportation more than flash. With 31.4% of listings marked as good or great deals, you still have room to shop selectively.

Is the 2016 Toyota RAV4 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.6/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback highlights reliability, and it also ties that dependability to fuel efficiency and a comfortable ownership experience. That combination suggests you can count on it as a long-term used buy if the individual vehicle has been maintained well. For used buyers, the main risk is less about the model’s reputation and more about the condition of the specific example you choose.

What should I look for when buying a used 2016 Toyota RAV4?

At 52.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can confirm accident records, title status, and ownership history. After that, prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on body condition, alignment, and signs of uneven wear. Because this model is valued for practicality and reliability, you want to make sure the specific vehicle you buy matches that reputation.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Toyota RAV4?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully without expecting deep discounts everywhere.

• Deal availability: 31.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,630 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices are up 1.15% year-over-year.
• Clean inventory: 52.2% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $15,393, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 Toyota RAV4's resale value?

The current average of $16,047 sits slightly above last year's $15,864.

That upward movement suggests the market still sees steady value in this model year. If you buy well and keep the vehicle in good condition, you should have a reasonable chance of preserving a healthy share of your purchase price. Strong demand also helps support resale because shoppers continue to value the RAV4’s practicality and reputation.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Toyota RAV4 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 31.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 52.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices are up 1.15% year-over-year.
• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2015 if:

• At $14,624, the 2015 costs less than the current year's $16,047 average.
• It offers perky drivability, high fuel economy, and generous cargo space.

The bottom line:
Choose the 2016 if you want the fresher update, stronger feature content, and a still-reasonable market price. If your priority is spending less upfront, the 2015 is the better value play, especially if you can find one in good condition and you’re comfortable giving up some of the 2016’s updates.
