She said the car was in stock and I asked why it had been on the market so long (126 days or so). I asked if it was the purple color and she said yes, or people would get there and like another vehicle better. I told her I would like to come up and see it but to let me know if anyone else showed up and was interested because I didn't want to drive so far for nothing. She said she would and again told me the car still there. I took 1/2 day of vacation to drive up to Warren from Navarre. My husband did too. We planned to buy the car if it met our satisfaction. We get there, and I was switched to another salesperson who took us out to a Highlander of the same color, but not the same quality. It had 157K miles on it and was not pristine. I said the Highlander I was interested in was newer with only 62k miles on it. He went back into the dealer for a few minutes, came out and said,"Oh so sorry, that car is in PA right now. The first salesperson made a mistake, but we can have it back here by Wednesday. What price range are you looking in?" He said he only had the Highlander he had currently showed me and another one for $34k which was more expensive than the one I wanted to look at ($20.5K). This was totally a bait and switch. I don't believe the Highlander they are listing even exists. They didn't even care that I drove over an hour or took time off work to come see their non-existent car. It's all part of their sales pitch. Yes, they said they were sorry ... but it was not sincere in my opinion. Potential buyers - beware. It's always easy to tell you that oops, they made a mistake ... and by that time, you are out your time and gas money. Not to mention, feeling like an absolute FOOL for falling for the scam."
