How much does the 2016 Subaru Impreza cost?

There are 800 listings available, which suggests you should have a workable range of choices.

Is the 2016 Subaru Impreza a good car?

Yes — the 5/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. The overview frames this model year as a practical all-weather compact with standard all-wheel drive, and it emphasizes a balance of everyday usability and extra confidence in poor conditions. It also highlights the appeal of affordable, practical fun for shoppers who want usable transportation with character. With 31.8% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a decent chance of finding a competitive offer.

Is the 2016 Subaru Impreza reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The overview suggests the Impreza’s appeal comes from its durable, capability-first formula and its standard all-wheel drive, but it also notes that many examples have been heavily used, abused, or modified. For used buyers, that means reliability risk is less about the nameplate itself and more about how carefully a specific car was maintained and driven.

What should I look for when buying a used 2016 Subaru Impreza?

At 55.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and confirm whether the car has been modified, repaired, or used hard. A pre-purchase inspection should focus on signs of rough use, uneven wear, and any evidence that the car’s all-wheel-drive hardware has been neglected. Prioritize overall condition and maintenance records, since clean examples are especially important with this model.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Subaru Impreza?

This looks like a moderate market where selective buyers can still find value if they shop carefully.

• Deal availability: 31.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 800 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.55% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 55.3% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $10,329, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 Subaru Impreza's resale value?

The current average of $10,387 sits slightly below last year's $10,660.

That softer pricing can help you buy more carefully now, but it also means future resale gains may be limited unless you choose a particularly clean example. If you plan to sell later, condition and documentation will matter a lot, especially because buyers tend to pay more for well-kept cars in a market where many examples have seen harder use. A strong maintenance history should help your car stand out when it’s time to list it.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Subaru Impreza or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 31.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 55.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.55% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2015 if:

• At $10,206, the 2015 costs less than the current year's $10,387 average.
• It adds a more polished cabin and better interior tech.

Consider the 2017 if:

• At $12,761, the 2017 costs more than the current year's $10,387 average.
• It brings an all-new design with standard all-wheel drive and broader everyday appeal.

The bottom line: The 2016 is the better primary pick if you want a balanced mix of price, availability, and owner satisfaction. If you’re especially price-sensitive, the 2015 is the smarter value play; if you want a newer-feeling redesign and can spend more, the 2017 is the upgrade path.
