Used 2016 Nissan Murano for Sale nearPittsburgh, PA

How much does the 2016 Nissan Murano cost?

Prices have softened 5.77% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,180 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2016 Nissan Murano a good car?

Generally — the 2016 Nissan Murano earns a 4/5 user rating and a 6.83/10 expert rating. The model scores 8/10 across Look and feel and Safety.

The Murano’s appeal is rooted in its bold styling and upscale cabin presentation, while the rest of the vehicle is described as more style-forward than modern in substance. That makes it a better fit if you want a crossover with strong visual character and a comfort-oriented personality rather than one that feels especially cutting-edge.

33.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which suggests there are still worthwhile opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2016 Nissan Murano reliable?

Owners rate it 4/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The Murano is described as having dependable mechanicals, with its 3.5-liter V6 called refined, efficient, and proven over time. The expert review also notes that the model has consistently demonstrated outstanding reliability over the years, which supports confidence in everyday ownership.

The main long-term ownership risk for used buyers is that a stylish, older crossover can still hide wear items or uneven maintenance history, so condition and service records matter more than the badge alone.

What should I look for when buying a used 2016 Nissan Murano?

At 63.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially on bodywork, alignment, and signs of prior collision repair. Because the Murano’s appeal is tied to style and comfort, you’ll also want to focus on cabin condition, electronics, and how well the vehicle has aged overall.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Murano is offered in S, SV, SL, and Platinum trim levels. The base trim is the most stripped-down version, while higher trims add more upscale equipment and convenience features.
• Powertrain: Every 2016 Murano uses a 260-horsepower, 3.5-liter V6 with a continuously variable transmission. The engine is described as refined, efficient, and strong, though real-world fuel economy may fall short of expectations.
• Safety package: The Murano can be optioned with Predictive Forward Collision Warning, automatic emergency braking, Driver Attention Alert, blind-spot monitoring, and AroundView 360-degree camera monitoring with moving object detection. Lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, and pedestrian-detection capability are missing.
• Infotainment: The system includes a responsive touchscreen, Bluetooth streaming audio, voice recognition, and hands-free text messaging. The larger 8-inch screen comes with navigation, but Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are not available.
• Fuel efficiency: The expert review notes 21.1 mpg in combined driving, compared with an expected 24 mpg.

Which 2016 Nissan Murano trim should I buy?

The 2016 Nissan Murano is offered in 4 trim levels: S, SV, SL, Platinum.

Here's the short version:

• S: This is the entry point, so it makes the most sense if you want the Murano’s styling and V6 power at the lowest price. It is the trim most likely to leave you wanting more convenience and upscale equipment.
• SV: This is the best-value choice for many shoppers because it adds meaningful equipment without pushing you all the way to the top of the range. If you want a balanced mix of features and price, this is the trim to focus on first.
• SL: This trim is the step up if you want a more premium-feeling Murano with additional comfort and tech content. It suits you if you plan to keep the SUV longer and want a richer ownership experience.
• Platinum: This is the one to choose if you want the most upscale version of the Murano and are willing to pay for it. It is the right fit if you care most about loaded equipment and a near-luxury feel.

The safety package can be added with a long list of modern technologies, but some features are still missing, including lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, and pedestrian detection.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Nissan Murano?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you have room to shop, but the best listings should still move quickly.

• Deal availability: 33.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,180 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.77% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 63.5% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $11,785, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 Nissan Murano's resale value?

The current average of $11,785 sits slightly below last year's $12,507.

That price movement suggests the Murano has already absorbed some depreciation, which can help future sellers if they buy at the right price today. If you keep the vehicle in clean condition and maintain it well, you may be better positioned to preserve value than someone who buys at the top of the market. The current pricing also means your resale outcome will depend heavily on mileage, condition, and trim.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2016 Nissan Murano safe?

The 2016 Nissan Murano earns a Top Safety Pick+ rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS).

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

The Murano can be equipped with Predictive Forward Collision Warning, automatic emergency braking, Driver Attention Alert, blind-spot monitoring, and AroundView 360-degree camera monitoring with moving object detection. However, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, and pedestrian-detection capability are missing, so you should pay close attention to which safety features are actually installed on the specific vehicle you’re considering.

Should I buy a 2016 Nissan Murano or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 33.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 63.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.77% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• The expert review says the 2016 Murano is about style over substance, with bold design and a cabin that feels more modern than the rest of the vehicle.

The bottom line: If you want the Murano’s standout styling and a comfortable, V6-powered crossover at a softened price, the 2016 is a reasonable buy. If you’re shopping primarily on value and want the broadest set of features for the money, you should also compare nearby model years and focus on the best-equipped example you can find.
