CarGurus Analysis: 2016 Lexus LS

Summary
With 150 currently listed for sale and an average price of $24,794, 34.0% of 2016 Lexus LS models for sale on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2016 Lexus LS 5 / 5 stars.
51.3% of 2016 LS models on CarGurus are accident free.
Why it stands out
The 2016 Lexus LS stands out as a large luxury sedan that blends quiet comfort, strong refinement, and a long list of premium features. In this generation, the LS 460 was described as quicker, more refined, more efficient, and bigger than before, while the long-wheelbase LS 460 L added a massive rear seat and an available Executive Class Seating Package with heated, cooled, reclining seats and massage functions. That combination makes the 2016 model especially appealing to buyers who value a serene, upscale driving experience and a cabin designed to pamper passengers.
For 2016, Lexus also updated the Remote Touch Interface, adding Enter and Back buttons, and introduced the Lexus Enform Service Connect application so owners could check the car’s status remotely and receive service notifications. The LS 460’s 4.6-liter V8 produced 380 horsepower and 367 pound-feet of torque, and the model used the world’s first eight-speed automatic transmission. Tech and comfort features included an optional hard-disk-based navigation system, a 450-watt Mark Levinson audio system, an automated parking system, and adaptive cruise control.
At the same time, the 2016 Lexus LS was not without drawbacks. The source notes that the technology was outdated by today’s standards, and the Remote Touch Interface took time for drivers to get used to. Even so, the 2016 LS remains distinctive for pairing traditional Lexus quietness and craftsmanship with a spacious, well-equipped luxury cabin and a smooth, powerful drivetrain.

A “Dream Car”. Rides like a noiseless airplane. When cruising down the highway with music turned on you forget that you are actually driving. A really spectacular car . Has all the bells and whistles! Everything is automatic! Real luxury. This car replaced my 2002 Infinite Q 45.

This is by far the last great sedan, no more as of 2018 redesign that reduced riding height while boasting its new streamline body, together with very sophisticated technology (too complicated for most drivers) The LS 400 and the LS 460 were both very fine high quality enjoyable luxurious vehicles I have owned and very much appreciated.

Is the 2016 Lexus LS reliable?
Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction. The 2016 Lexus LS is presented as a refined, durable luxury sedan with a smooth, powerful drivetrain and a reputation built around quiet comfort and craftsmanship. Its traditional Lexus approach and well-equipped cabin make it a reassuring choice if you want a used flagship sedan that feels engineered for long-term ownership. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about the core car and more about finding one that has been maintained carefully and not worn down by age or neglect.
What should I look for when buying a used 2016 Lexus LS?
At 51.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important. You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, especially on cars with higher mileage or incomplete service records. Focus on overall condition, signs of prior bodywork, and whether the luxury features and electronics operate as they should, since this is a premium sedan where deferred maintenance can matter.

Should I buy a 2016 Lexus LS or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2016 if:
- 33.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- At 51.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
- Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
The bottom line: The 2016 Lexus LS makes the most sense if you want a quiet, well-appointed luxury sedan with a strong comfort-first personality and you’re comfortable shopping carefully for condition. If you’re more price-sensitive, a nearby model year may be worth comparing, but the 2016 remains a compelling pick when you find a clean example with the right history and equipment.
