Used 2016 Lexus IS for Sale near New York

How much does the 2016 Lexus IS cost?

Prices have held steady compared to this time last year, signaling a stable and predictable market for this model year.

There are 680 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2016 Lexus IS a good car?

Yes — the 2016 Lexus IS earns a 4.9/5 user rating, which points to very strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise the performance, comfort, and stylish design, and many also highlight the luxury feel and reliability. That makes it a good fit if you want a compact luxury sports sedan with a premium cabin and an engaging driving character, especially if you value a more spirited personality over maximum rear-seat space. With 31.2% of listings marked as good or great deals, you still have room to shop selectively.

Is the 2016 Lexus IS reliable?

Owners rate it 4.9/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The review summary also emphasizes reliability, along with a dependable ownership experience and a car many drivers feel good about keeping for the long term. That combination suggests you can approach used examples with confidence, provided the specific car has been maintained well. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about the model’s reputation and more about how carefully a given example was cared for.

What should I look for when buying a used 2016 Lexus IS?

At 36.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report before you commit, then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection on any car that looks especially appealing on price. Focus closely on body condition, signs of prior repair, and whether the car’s ride quality feels consistent with the model’s sporty setup. If you’re comparing multiple listings, give extra weight to the cleanest example rather than the cheapest one.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Lexus IS?

What is the 2016 Lexus IS's resale value?

The current average of $18,301 sits slightly above last year's $18,210.

That small increase suggests the market has stayed fairly stable, which is helpful if you plan to sell later. A steady price pattern can support resale confidence because it signals that buyers continue to value the model without dramatic swings. Strong owner satisfaction also helps keep demand healthy when you eventually list the car.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.9/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Lexus IS or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 31.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 36.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.9/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2015 if:

• At $17,148, the 2015 costs less than the current year's $18,301 average.
• It emphasizes driving enjoyment and value in a refined, multi-talented sports sedan.

The 2016 is the better all-around pick if you want the newer model-year pricing context, strong owner satisfaction, and a stable market. If your priority is spending less upfront, the 2015 is the better value-focused alternative, especially if you’re comfortable giving up some of the 2016’s updated appeal.
