How much does the 2016 Hyundai Santa Fe cost?

Prices have softened 11.12% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 358 listings available, which gives you a useful amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2016 Hyundai Santa Fe a good car?

Yes — the 5/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. The 2016 Santa Fe stands out as a larger, more polished SUV than Hyundai’s earlier efforts, and you can choose between two-row and three-row configurations depending on how much passenger space you need. It also brings a well-equipped cabin for its era, with practical features like power accessories, a six-speaker stereo, USB or iPod connectivity, and available conveniences such as heated second-row seats, leather, and dual-zone climate control on three-row models. At the same time, the model’s broad powertrain lineup gives you flexibility if you want to prioritize everyday use, family hauling, or available V-6 power. 29.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which suggests there are still worthwhile opportunities in the market.

Is the 2016 Hyundai Santa Fe reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction. The 2016 Santa Fe is described as generally safe and well equipped, with a cabin that was thoughtfully outfitted for its time and a lineup that offered multiple engine choices paired with a six-speed automatic. Its appeal comes from being a practical, family-friendly SUV with useful features rather than from any single standout mechanical claim. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is making sure you choose a well-kept example, since condition and maintenance history matter more as these vehicles age.

What should I look for when buying a used 2016 Hyundai Santa Fe?

At 57.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important. You should run a vehicle history report before you commit, then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection so you can confirm the body, suspension, and mechanical condition match the listing. Focus on overall wear, signs of past repairs, and whether the features and equipment work as advertised, especially on higher-content trims.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Hyundai Santa Fe?

This is a moderate market, so you can be selective without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 29.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 358 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.12% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 57.5% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $9,664, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 Hyundai Santa Fe's resale value?

The current average of $9,754 sits slightly below last year's $10,974. That kind of price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy more confidently now but may also limit near-term upside if you plan to resell soon. For a future seller, the key is to buy a clean, well-documented example so you have the best chance of preserving value when it’s time to move on. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Hyundai Santa Fe or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 29.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 57.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.12% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2015 if:

• At $9,582, the 2015 costs less than the current year's $9,754 average.
• It offers a practical, fun-to-drive balance with broad everyday appeal.

The bottom line: If you want the stronger current-market balance of price, inventory, and owner satisfaction, the 2016 is the better primary target. If your top priority is spending less upfront, the 2015 is the more price-sensitive alternative.
