Used 2016 Dodge Durango for Sale nearOklahoma City, OK

How much does the 2016 Dodge Durango cost?

Prices have softened 4.32% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 887 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of options to compare.

Is the 2016 Dodge Durango a good car?

Yes — it earns a 5/5 user rating and a 6.5/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Safety at 8/10.

The 2016 Durango stands out for rear-wheel drive and serious towing capacity, giving it a more truck-like character than many family-oriented rivals. It also leans into a sportier attitude this year with added standard equipment and a more assertive driving feel.

The market shows 31.6% of listings as good or great deals, which suggests there are worthwhile opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2016 Dodge Durango reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The Durango’s appeal comes from its utility-first design, strong towing ability, and broad feature set, especially for buyers who want space without giving up a more individual driving character. Its standard stop/start system also helps extend the efficiency of the V6.

The V6 setup is described as capable but heavy-duty use can still strain it, especially with cargo and passengers aboard. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that the Durango’s weight and truck-like mission can mean more wear on components over time.

What should I look for when buying a used 2016 Dodge Durango?

At 59.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re considering a higher-mileage example. Focus on body condition, signs of prior repair, and whether the equipment on the listing matches the trim you’re shopping.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base SXT includes 18-inch alloys, heated mirrors, auto headlights, a tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel, keyless ignition and entry, and a load-leveling rear suspension, while the Limited adds remote ignition, auto-dimming power-folding mirrors, leather, and second-row heat. The Citadel and R/T bring more upscale or sport-focused equipment, and the Limited is the best-value trim if you want the strongest balance of features and price.
• Powertrain: Most trims use a 3.6-liter V6 with 290 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque, while the R/T uses a 5.7-liter V8 with 360 hp and 390 lb-ft of torque. The V6 is the efficiency-minded choice, while the V8 is the pick if towing and stronger acceleration matter more.
• Safety package: The Safety/Security & Convenience Group adds blind-spot warning with rear cross-traffic alert, auto HID headlights and wipers, a power-adjustable steering wheel, and a cargo cover with net. It is not available on the SXT, so lower trims miss out on some important driver-assistance content.
• Infotainment: The Uconnect 8.4 system brings an 8.4-inch touchscreen, voice controls, satellite radio, and emergency telematics. It does not include Apple CarPlay or Android Auto.
• Fuel efficiency: The V6 is rated at 19 mpg city and 26 highway, while the V8 is rated at 14 mpg city and 22 highway.

Which 2016 Dodge Durango trim should I buy?

The 2016 Dodge Durango is offered in 5 trim levels: SXT, Limited, Citadel, R/T, and Rallye.

Here's the short version:

• SXT: This is the entry point, but it still brings useful standard equipment like 18-inch alloys, heated mirrors, auto headlights, keyless ignition and entry, and a load-leveling rear suspension. It makes sense if you want the lowest starting point and plan to shop carefully for options.
• Limited: This is the best-value trim because it adds remote ignition, auto-dimming power-folding mirrors, leather, second-row heat, driver memory settings, and more available tech and convenience features. It’s the trim most buyers should start with.
• Citadel: This trim adds more luxury-oriented content, including additional leather, upgraded brakes, 20-inch wheels, front-seat ventilation, and a 9-speaker stereo. It suits you if you want a more upscale Durango without going all the way to the sportiest version.
• R/T: This is the performance-focused choice, with the 5.7-liter V8, sport suspension, unique body-color trim, Nappa leather, and performance steering tuning. It’s the right pick if towing strength and stronger acceleration matter most.
• Rallye: This package adds 5 extra horsepower, black 20-inch wheels, and additional body-color trim with a roof-rail delete. It’s best if you want a more distinctive look and a slightly sharper appearance.

The Safety/Security & Convenience Group is worth seeking out, especially because it adds blind-spot warning and rear cross-traffic alert, but it is not available on the SXT.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Dodge Durango?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 31.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 887 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.32% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 59.5% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $13,403, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 Dodge Durango's resale value?

The current average of $13,512 sits slightly below last year's $14,121.

That decline suggests the market has become a bit more favorable for buyers, but it also means sellers may need to price competitively to move a used Durango. If you’re planning to sell later, the current trend points to a model that still has demand, but not enough scarcity to support aggressive pricing.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2016 Dodge Durango safe?

The 2016 Dodge Durango earns a four-star overall rating from NHTSA, with five-star ratings in side impacts.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

The Durango comes with 4-wheel antilock discs, stability control, traction control, trailer sway control, and a full airbag suite that includes front side, driver knee, and full-length curtain airbags. The available Safety/Security & Convenience Group adds blind-spot warning with rear cross-traffic alert, auto HID headlights and wipers, a power-adjustable steering wheel, and a cargo cover with net.

A key caveat is that some important driver-assistance features are not standard on lower trims, so you should verify exactly which safety package a used listing includes.

Should I buy a 2016 Dodge Durango or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 31.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 59.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.32% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• This year adds fresh wheels, more exterior color choices, and a Sport driving mode that sharpens steering and throttle response.

Consider the 2017 if:

• At $14,541, the 2017 costs more than the current year's $13,512 average.
• It adds a more refined, well-equipped interior with room for up to 7 passengers.

The bottom line: If you want the better value, the 2016 is the smarter buy because prices are softer and inventory is healthy. If you’re willing to spend more for a newer model year, the 2017 is the cleaner upgrade path.
