2016 Dodge Charger Reviews

Great daily driver and highway cruiser
The 2014 Charger R/T was the last generation of this vehicle with the massive front end. Combined with the "Blacktop Package" which blacks out the entire trim to a monochrome body and trim color gives this vehicle a sinister appearance in black. Great blackout wheels too add to the appearance. The Charger R/T has a 375 HP HEMI engine, providing outstanding acceleration and responsiveness throughout the driving range. Even at highway speeds, a tap on the throttle elicits immediate speed and the ability to make passing in difficult situations a breeze. The 5 speed automatic transmission (no manuals available for the Charger) is very responsive and this particular package includes paddle shifters so it can be shifted like a manual if desired. Really fun on mountain roads where a bit more precise engine control is desired. Interior comfort is very good; seats are supportive and solid. Fit and finish on the interior is very good, albeit not in keeping with luxury cars. Of course, this is not a luxury car, but a form of muscle car dressed up as your dad's everyday driver. Or an undercover police car.... In the all blacvk color scheme, you'll get looks in any case. Trunk room is voluminous and we easily carry our Costco haul in there without resorting to the SUV. Of further note ius this vehicle has the fold down rear seats, where one or both can be folded to accommodate a surfboard, step ladder or lots more grear via the trunk pass-through that essentially utilizes the rear seat for extended cargo. A nice feature when needed. Fuel mileage in the city has ranged between 12 and 15 MPG, while highway mileage has been as high as 27 to 28 on a primarily freeway driven trip. I understand the 8 speed transmission gets a bit better mileage, perhaps a mile per gallon or two improved on the highway. However, the 8 speed transmission was also a $1000 option and calculating any fuel savings over the expected life of the vehicle was far outweighed by the initial cost of the upgraded 8 speed. Of note, I believe the 8 speed is now standard for 2015 and 2015 except in the Police Pursuit models that remain with the heavy duty 5 speed auto. I have had no problems with the vehicle in 14 months of ownership. Only an oil change and lube. Dodge gave owners the opportunity to download an electronics upgrade to eliminate the so called "hacker" takeover of the electronics and at the same time upgraded the maps for the navigation system. An easy upgrade in about 20 minutes or so and delivered over the internet secure connection. No dealer interface needed. Speaking of the Navigation system, the U-Connect 8.4 system is Garmin based and is outstanding in every way, even to traffic and detour avoidance without loads of extra steps to take to achieve it. This vehicle also came with the Beats Audio upgrade and the sound is awesome. No need for aftermarket when a system sounds this good. -
2010 Dodge Charger SXT
I love the muscular look of the car as well as the ride but I wish mine had leather seats and a sunroof. The auxiliary jack makes it a breeze to listen to music stored on my phone. The spoiler on the rear deck adds to the "cool factor." -
Love at first sight
I liked the whole look of it and how it drove. Especially all the room the car has. It truly is what a full size sedan should be like and nothing less. It drives very smoothly and is easy to manuver. Never had any problems with this car.
