What should I look for when buying a used 2016 Buick LaCrosse?

At 57.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report before you commit, then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection on any car that looks especially clean or unusually well priced. Focus on body condition, signs of prior repair, and whether the cabin and electronics match the seller’s description.

Because this model is often bought for comfort and features, make sure everything from the infotainment system to the driver-assist equipment works as expected.

• Inventory: There are 360 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.79% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 57.5% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $11,631, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 Buick LaCrosse's resale value?

The current average of $12,149 sits slightly below last year's $12,498.

That softer pricing suggests the market has eased a bit, which can help you buy at a more favorable entry point. For a future seller, it also means resale value may depend more on condition, mileage, and equipment than on broad market momentum. Well-kept examples should still appeal to shoppers looking for a comfortable, upscale sedan.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Buick LaCrosse or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 27.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 57.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.79% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2017 if:

• At $15,102, the 2017 costs more than the current year's $12,149 average.
• It brings a redesigned, more premium look and feel.

The bottom line: Choose the 2016 if you want the better value and are focused on comfort, features, and owner satisfaction. If you can spend more and want the newer redesign, the 2017 is the stronger upgrade path. For price-sensitive buyers, the 2016 is the smarter buy as long as you verify history and condition carefully.
