Is the 2015 Toyota Highlander a good car?

Yes — the 2015 Toyota Highlander earns a 4.8/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners most often praise its comfort, spaciousness, and reliability, and many say the roomy back seats and overall driving experience make it feel more luxurious than you might expect. Is the 2015 Toyota Highlander reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owners describe it as reliable, and the feedback also points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience that many buyers can count on. The Highlander’s reputation for long-term durability is a major part of its appeal, especially if you want a used SUV that should be easy to live with over time. For used buyers, that usually means lower ownership stress, but condition still matters because maintenance history can vary from one listing to the next.

What should I look for when buying a used 2015 Toyota Highlander?

At 56.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report before you commit, especially if the listing price looks unusually attractive. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection so you can check for signs of past damage, uneven wear, or repair quality issues. Focus on overall condition, service records, and how well the cabin and mechanical components have been maintained.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2015 Toyota Highlander?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 35.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,459 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.27% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 56.1% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $16,486, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2015 Toyota Highlander's resale value?

The current average of $16,503 sits slightly below last year's $17,240.

That softer pricing suggests the market has cooled a bit, which can help you buy more carefully now but may also limit short-term upside if you plan to resell soon. If you keep the vehicle in strong condition and maintain it well, you can help protect its value better than the average listing. Demand should remain supported by the model’s comfort and family-friendly reputation.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2015 Toyota Highlander or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2015 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2015 if:

• 35.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 56.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.27% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2014 if:

• At $15,496, the 2014 costs less than the current year's $16,503 average.
• It feels more engaging than the stereotype suggests.

The bottom line: If you want the stronger overall market balance, the 2015 is the better primary target because it combines solid owner satisfaction with a softer price trend and decent deal availability. If your main goal is to spend less upfront, the 2014 is the better secondary path, especially if you find one in excellent condition.
