CarGurus Analysis: 2015 Porsche 911

Summary
With 388 currently listed for sale and an average price of $124,440, 26.3% of 2015 Porsche 911s for sale on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2015 Porsche 911 4.91 / 5 stars.
80.2% of 2015 Porsche 911 models on CarGurus are accident free.
Why it stands out
The 2015 Porsche 911 stands out because it sits in the seventh generation, a period that brought a more modernized 911 while preserving the car’s familiar shape and rear-engine character. This generation debuted with a thin bar running between the taillights, and it also marked a shift from hydraulic to electric power steering, which changed the steering feel even as performance improved. For buyers, that means the 2015 911 still delivers the classic Porsche identity, but with enough engineering updates to make it more manageable and usable than older versions.
For 2015, the lineup had broadened beyond the base Carrera and Carrera S to include all-wheel-drive Carrera 4 and 4S models, plus the Turbo, Turbo S, and GT3. The Turbo models brought serious pace, while the GT3 focused on track-day performance with a naturally aspirated engine, no rear seats, and a PDK-only setup. The GTS trim also joined the lineup in 2015, pairing the Carrera S engine with the Powerkit option for 430 horsepower and offering a blend of comfort and sharpness. That mix of choices is a big part of the 2015 911’s appeal: it could be a daily driver, a grand tourer, or a focused performance car depending on the version.
There are tradeoffs, though. The 911 is still pricey, and passenger and cargo space are limited. Owners also tend to praise its performance and handling, while some note that the infotainment system is not especially intuitive and that it lacks a remote start feature. Even so, the 2015 Porsche 911 remains distinctive because it combines iconic styling, a unique engine layout, and a wide spread of performance personalities in one car.

Great cars, probably the best cars for people that like a direct and sporty ride. But overall overpriced and hard to find the correct specification of a pre-owned cars. Their owners tend to buy them and keep them as a second or third vehicle so trade ins are not very common. Buy one and enjoy if you can afford it. You wont be dis-appointed.

Is the 2015 Porsche 911 a good car?
Yes — 4.91/5 is a strong user rating, and it lines up with the way owners describe this car’s appeal. The review summary repeatedly points to performance, handling, and a sporty feel as the biggest strengths, with the Targa’s convertible hard top also standing out for some owners. In practical terms, the 2015 911 makes the most sense if you want a car that can work as a daily driver, a grand tourer, or a focused performance machine depending on the version you choose. With 27.0% of listings marked as good or great deals, you still have some room to shop selectively.
Is the 2015 Porsche 911 reliable?
Owners rate it 4.91/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
The owner feedback also points to a car that feels reliable and dependable in everyday use, with praise centered on how well it delivers over time rather than just on paper. That kind of feedback matters on a used sports car, because it suggests the car can be one you count on if it has been maintained properly. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is paying for neglected maintenance or wear that can be expensive to correct later.
What should I look for when buying a used 2015 Porsche 911?
Accident-free inventory is solid at 80% — always verify the vehicle history report.
You should start with the history report so you can confirm accident history, title status, and service records before you get too far into the process. After that, put inspection priority on overall condition, because a car like this can hide expensive issues behind a clean presentation. Focus especially on signs of wear that would matter on a performance car, and make sure the car’s condition matches the asking price.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2015 Porsche 911?
This is still a seller’s market, so you should act selectively and be ready to move when a strong listing appears.
- Deal availability: 27.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 385 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices are up 10.64% year-over-year.
- Clean inventory: 80.0% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $111,922, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2015 Porsche 911's resale value?
The current average of $124,747 sits slightly above last year's $112,747.
That price movement suggests the market has stayed firm, which is a good sign if you plan to sell later. When a model year holds value this well, it usually means buyers continue to see it as desirable rather than dated. For you, that can translate into stronger resale prospects if you buy carefully and keep the car in good condition. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.91/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Should I buy a 2015 Porsche 911 or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2015 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2015 if:
- 27.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Accident-free inventory is solid at 80% — always verify the vehicle history report.
- Price trend: Prices are up 10.64% year-over-year.
- Owners rate it 4.91/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
The bottom line: If you want a 911 with strong owner satisfaction, solid inventory, and a market that still supports demand, the 2015 is a compelling choice. If you’re more price-sensitive, you may want to compare nearby years and focus on whichever one gives you the best combination of condition, history, and asking price.
