How much does the 2015 Ford Escape cost?

Prices have softened 6.61% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,054 listings available, which suggests you have a healthy amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2015 Ford Escape a good car?

Generally — the 2015 Ford Escape earns a 4.4/5 user rating and a 7.7/10 expert rating, which points to a well-liked used crossover with broad appeal. The standout strength is Performance at 9/10.

Owners consistently praise its value for money, power, and functionality, and many also like the features and driving experience. The overview frames it as a friendly, approachable family crossover with extra ride height, a handy liftgate, and cargo flexibility, so it fits you well if you want something car-like but still practical. With 31.4% of listings marked as good or great deals, the market also gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2015 Ford Escape reliable?

Owners rate it 4.4/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction. User feedback also points to a dependable-feeling ownership experience for many buyers, with repeated praise for value, performance, and functionality. The expert drive notes that the Escape can feel solid on the road and that its power delivery is broad and usable, which supports the sense that it’s built to be counted on day to day.

Ford also notes that the Escape can be loaded with technology without feeling obsolete quickly, thanks to software-updatable MyFordTouch. Still, some owners mention reliability concerns, so a careful used buyer should prioritize service records and a thorough pre-purchase inspection.

What should I look for when buying a used 2015 Ford Escape?

At 63.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then focus your inspection on bodywork, panel alignment, and signs of prior repair. Because some listings have accident history, condition matters more than mileage alone. It’s also smart to test the tech and check that the cabin features work as expected, since some owners found the technology overwhelming.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The S trim starts with manual cloth seats, air conditioning, a 6-speaker audio system, and a manual liftgate, while higher trims add more comfort and convenience. The Titanium trim brings full leather-trimmed seats with heated, power-adjustable front buckets and a liftgate that opens with a foot gesture, so it’s the best fit if you want the most upscale experience.
• Powertrain: The Escape can be equipped with a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder, a 1.6-liter EcoBoost 4-cylinder, or a 2.0-liter EcoBoost 4-cylinder. The turbocharged EcoBoost engines are described as delivering strong power over a wide range of engine speeds, and all versions use regular fuel.
• Safety package: Blind-spot monitoring with cross-traffic alerts is a key safety technology, and the Escape also includes electronic stability control and a rear-view camera. Active Park Assist and Curve Control add more driver support, though the safety content also notes a poor small-overlap result.
• Infotainment: MyFordTouch uses a quadrant-style central display and includes Sync for voice control. The system supports Bluetooth, USB, auxiliary input, HD Radio, and SiriusXM, and the available Sony audio system is rated at 390 watts.
• Fuel efficiency: The 2.0-liter EcoBoost with AWD is rated at 21 mpg city and 28 mpg highway, and the expert notes that fuel economy can drop if you lean on the power too often.

Which 2015 Ford Escape trim should I buy?

The 2015 Ford Escape is offered in 3 trim levels: S, SE, and Titanium.

Here's the short version:

• S: This is the simplest way into the Escape, with the 2.5-liter engine, manual cloth seats, air conditioning, a 6-speaker audio system, and a manual liftgate. It makes sense if you want the lowest-cost path into the model and can live without the extra convenience features.
• SE: This is the best-value choice for most shoppers because it adds the more desirable EcoBoost powertrain and more equipment than the S without jumping all the way to the top trim. If you want a balanced mix of features, performance, and price, this is the trim to target first.
• Titanium: This is the most upscale version, with leather-trimmed seats, heated and power-adjustable front buckets, and the foot-activated liftgate. Choose it if you want the most comfort and convenience the Escape offers.

The safety content also notes that the Escape includes electronic stability control, a rear-view camera, and blind-spot monitoring with cross-traffic alerts.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2015 Ford Escape?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient.

• Deal availability: 31.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,054 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.61% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 63.4% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $8,101, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2015 Ford Escape's resale value?

The current average of $8,106 sits slightly below last year's $8,680.

That softer pricing suggests the Escape is currently in a buyer-friendly phase, which can work against future sellers if the market stays loose. On the other hand, a lower entry price can help you buy in at a more favorable point, which may support your eventual resale position if you keep the vehicle in strong condition. Models with desirable equipment and clean history should be easier to move later than rougher examples.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.4/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2015 Ford Escape safe?

The Ford Escape earns a four-star overall rating from NHTSA, and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety gives it its highest Good ratings for almost all categories, though it receives a Poor rating in the small overlap frontal collision test.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

The Escape’s safety equipment includes electronic stability control, a rear-view camera, blind-spot monitoring with cross-traffic alerts, Active Park Assist, and Curve Control. That said, the poor small-overlap result is an important caveat for used buyers, so you should pay close attention to crash history and structural condition.

Should I buy a 2015 Ford Escape or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2015 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2015 if:

• 31.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 63.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.61% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.4/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• It offers a polished drive, strong power, and a refined, tech-heavy cabin.

Consider the 2016 if:

• At $8,880, the 2016 costs more than the current year's $8,106 average.
• It adds the newer Sync 3 infotainment system.

The bottom line: If you want the better value today, the 2015 is the smarter buy because it combines a lower average price with strong owner satisfaction and a broad set of features. If you’re willing to spend more for a newer cabin experience, the 2016 is the better path.

How does the 2015 Ford Escape compare to the 2015 Honda CR-V?

Our experts score the 2015 Ford Escape 7.7/10 and the 2015 Honda CR-V 8.5/10.

The Escape brings stronger performance and a lower average used price, while the CR-V counters with better fuel economy and a higher expert score. You also get more listings to choose from with the Escape, but the CR-V has a slightly stronger deal share. If you want the more engaging drive and lower purchase price, the Escape makes sense; if efficiency and overall balance matter more, the CR-V is the safer bet.
