CarGurus Analysis: 2015 Dodge Dart
overall

Summary
With 341 currently listed for sale and an average price of $6,970, 24.6% of 2015 Dodge Darts for sale on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2015 Dodge Dart 4.75 / 5 stars and CarGurus experts gave it a 7.5 / 10.
54.8% of 2015 Dart models on CarGurus are accident free.
Why it stands out
The 2015 Dodge Dart stands out as a compact car that is much bigger than you’d expect, and it can be fun in moments. It is also built on a solid platform, which helps give it a more substantial feel than its size might suggest. For budget buyers, that combination of space and occasional liveliness is a big part of its appeal.
This model year changes little from the year before, but it does add a Blacktop appearance package to SXT trims. The Aero trim is the only Dart available with the 1.4-liter turbo 4-cylinder, while the 2.4-liter four extends to the SXT, GT, and Limited trims. That range gives the Dart some flexibility, but the summary also notes that it hides a lot of its best qualities trying to please everyone, all the time.

I bought 2 Dodge Dart GTs in the last 15 months for my kids. The GT is a very nice car with nice interior and excellent stereo. The gas milage is also good. The only dislike for me is the high performance tires. Not a big fan of them in wet or snowy conditions. Overall, a very good car and glad we have them.

Impressed with what power it does have. I can tell the difference between my old 2008 Charger but it definitely isn't a slow turd by far. Very responsive and does great on gas! The amount of tech and quality inside is awesome! Handles the turns pretty good.

How much does the 2015 Dodge Dart cost?
| Metric | Value |
|---|---|
| Current Average Price | $7,071 |
| Year-Round Low | $6,641 |
| Year-Round High | $7,134 |
| Average Price a Year Ago | $6,862 |
| Change vs. Last Year | +3.06% |
Prices are up 3.06% year-over-year — a sign of continued demand for this model year.
There are 351 listings available, which gives you a modest amount of inventory to compare before you buy.
Is the 2015 Dodge Dart a good car?
Yes — the 2015 Dodge Dart earns a 4.75/5 user rating and a 7.5/10 expert rating. The model scores 8/10 across Look and feel, Technology, and Safety.
Owners consistently praise its sporty feel, comfortable interior, and fuel efficiency, and many also like the handling and overall performance. In practical terms, that lines up with the Dart’s roomy cabin and its appeal as a budget-friendly compact that feels bigger than expected.
The model also fits shoppers who want a compact car with a substantial feel and a bit of liveliness, rather than something purely utilitarian. 27.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.
Is the 2015 Dodge Dart reliable?
Owners rate it 4.75/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
The owner feedback also points to a car that can be reliable, dependable, and trouble-free enough to earn positive sentiment over time, especially for shoppers who value comfort, performance, and fuel efficiency. The expert notes add that the Dart is built on a solid frame, which supports the sense that it’s a car you can count on.
At the same time, the ownership picture includes some caution around transmission problems and electronic gremlins, so a used example is best approached with a careful inspection and service-history review. For used buyers, that means the biggest long-term risk is not the concept of the car itself, but whether a specific example has been maintained well.
What should I look for when buying a used 2015 Dodge Dart?
At 53.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
You should start with a vehicle-history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the car has had bodywork or shows uneven wear. Focus on condition, maintenance records, and how the car drives, since the Dart’s appeal depends heavily on finding one that still feels tight and well cared for.
Key things to evaluate:
- Trim level: The SE is the base trim and keeps things simple with a 2.0-liter engine, manual transmission, and basic equipment, while the SXT adds a 2.4-liter engine, Bluetooth, steering-wheel-mounted controls, and cruise control. The Aero is the high-mileage choice, the Limited adds more convenience and an 8-inch touchscreen, and the GT brings the sportier setup with tuned suspension, a black fascia, 18-inch wheels, and Nappa leather.
- Powertrain: The Dart offers a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder in the SE, a 1.4-liter turbo 4-cylinder in the Aero, and a 2.4-liter 4-cylinder in the SXT, GT, and Limited. The 1.4-liter turbo can top 40 mpg on the highway with care, while the 2.4-liter is the most fun and delivers mid-30s highway mileage.
- Safety package: Standard safety equipment includes driver and passenger airbags, knee airbags, antilock brakes, child seat latches, electronic stability control, and traction control. Blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-path detection, and parking-assist features are available on Limited and GT trims.
- Infotainment: The Dart uses a standard Uconnect AM/FM/CD radio with 6 speakers in most trims, while the SE has 4 speakers. Pricier Aero, GT, and Limited trims get an 8.4-inch Uconnect touchscreen, and higher trims also include a 7-inch multifunction display.
- Fuel efficiency: The 1.4-liter turbo can exceed 40 mpg on the highway, the 2.0-liter returns well into the 30-mpg range on the highway, and the 2.4-liter manages mid-30s highway mileage and low-20s city mileage.
Which 2015 Dodge Dart trim should I buy?
The 2015 Dodge Dart is offered in 5 trim levels: SE, SXT, Aero, GT, and Limited.
Here's the short version:
- SE: This is the cheapest way into the Dart, but it’s also the most stripped-down, with the 2.0-liter engine, manual transmission, 16-inch steel wheels, and a basic audio setup. It makes sense if your priority is low entry cost and you’re comfortable giving up the nicer cabin and tech features.
- SXT: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds the 2.4-liter engine, Bluetooth, steering-wheel-mounted controls, and cruise control without jumping all the way to the pricier trims. If you want the strongest balance of everyday equipment and price, this is the one to target.
- Aero: This is the efficiency-focused choice, with the 1.4-liter turbo engine, manual transmission or optional dual-clutch automatic, and a setup aimed at maximizing mileage. Choose it if fuel economy matters more to you than outright punch.
- GT: This is the sportier trim, with tuned suspension, revised engine calibration, 18-inch wheels, and Nappa leather. It suits you if you want the Dart’s most performance-oriented feel and are willing to pay more for it.
- Limited: This is the comfort-and-tech trim, with the 2.4-liter engine, power seats, an 8-inch touchscreen, and the 7-inch multifunction display. It’s the right pick if you want the most upscale-feeling Dart without moving into the GT’s sportier setup.
Blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-path detection, and parking-assist features are available as an option on Limited and GT trims.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2015 Dodge Dart?
This is a seller’s market, so you should act selectively and be ready to move when a strong listing appears.
- Deal availability: 27.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 351 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices are up 3.06% year-over-year.
- Clean inventory: 53.8% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $6,641, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2015 Dodge Dart's resale value?
The current average of $7,071 sits slightly above last year's $6,862.
That upward move suggests the market has held up reasonably well for this model year, which can help support resale if you buy carefully and keep the car in good condition. For a future seller, the key is to avoid overpaying now, because resale strength matters most when your purchase price leaves room for depreciation.
The Dart’s value story also benefits from steady buyer interest in roomy, budget-friendly compacts with a bit of personality. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.75/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Is the 2015 Dodge Dart safe?
The 2015 Dodge Dart received five-star ratings from NHTSA overall and mostly Good ratings from IIHS, though it earned only an Acceptable rating in the small-overlap crash test.
It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.
The Dart comes standard with driver and passenger airbags, including knee airbags, plus antilock brakes, child seat latches, electronic stability control, and traction control. A safety suite with blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-path detection, and parking-assist features is available on Limited and GT trims.
The small-overlap result is the main caveat to keep in mind, so if safety is a top priority, you should pay close attention to crash history and overall condition when shopping used.
Should I buy a 2015 Dodge Dart or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2015 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2015 if:
- 27.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- At 53.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
- Price trend: Prices are up 3.06% year-over-year.
- Owners rate it 4.75/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
- The 2015 adds a Blacktop appearance package to SXT trims and keeps the Dart’s roomy, value-focused formula intact.
Consider the 2014 if:
- At $6,879, the 2014 costs less than the current year's $7,071 average.
- It emphasizes safety, quality materials, and a strong infotainment appeal.
Consider the 2016 if:
- At $7,321, the 2016 costs more than the current year's $7,071 average.
- It leans into a bigger-feeling cabin and value-focused practicality.
The bottom line: If you want the best mix of price, features, and buyer appeal, the 2015 is the sensible default. If your budget is tighter, the 2014 can save you money, while the 2016 makes sense if you want to spend more for a slightly newer example and can justify the higher asking price.
