CarGurus Analysis: 2015 Dodge Dart
overall

Summary
With 320 currently listed for sale and an average price of $6,775, 26.9% of 2015 Dodge Dart listings on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2015 Dodge Dart 4.75 / 5 stars and CarGurus experts gave it a 7.5 / 10.
51.6% of 2015 Dodge Dart listings on CarGurus are accident free.
Why it stands out
The 2015 Dodge Dart stands out as a compact car that is much bigger than you’d expect, which gives it a different feel from many budget-minded rivals. It can also be fun in moments, and that sense of liveliness is part of its appeal for buyers who want something practical without giving up all personality.
For 2015, the Dart changes little from the previous year, but it does add a Blacktop appearance package to SXT trims. The Aero trim is the only Dart available with the 1.4-liter turbo 4-cylinder, while the 2.4-liter four extends to the SXT, GT, and Limited trims. That range of engines and trims gives the car some flexibility, and the Dart is described as a versatile car built on a solid platform.
At the same time, the 2015 Dodge Dart is said to hide a lot of its best qualities while trying to please everyone, all the time. That makes it appealing in some respects, but also suggests a car whose strengths may not be immediately obvious to every shopper.

I bought 2 Dodge Dart GTs in the last 15 months for my kids. The GT is a very nice car with nice interior and excellent stereo. The gas milage is also good. The only dislike for me is the high performance tires. Not a big fan of them in wet or snowy conditions. Overall, a very good car and glad we have them.

Impressed with what power it does have. I can tell the difference between my old 2008 Charger but it definitely isn't a slow turd by far. Very responsive and does great on gas! The amount of tech and quality inside is awesome! Handles the turns pretty good.

How much does the 2015 Dodge Dart cost?
| Metric | Value |
|---|---|
| Current Average Price | $6,782 |
| Year-Round Low | $6,642 |
| Year-Round High | $7,132 |
| Average Price a Year Ago | $6,862 |
| Change vs. Last Year | −1.17% |
Prices have softened 1.17% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.
There are 319 listings available, which gives you a modest pool of choices to compare.
Is the 2015 Dodge Dart a good car?
Yes — the 2015 Dodge Dart earns a 4.75/5 user rating and a 7.5/10 expert rating. The model scores 8/10 across Look and feel, Technology, and Safety.
Owners consistently praise its sporty feel, comfortable interior, and fuel efficiency, and many also like the handling and overall performance. In practical terms, that lines up well if you want a compact car that feels larger than expected and still brings some personality to daily driving.
The market also shows 27.6% of listings as good or great deals, which suggests there are still worthwhile opportunities if you shop carefully.
Is the 2015 Dodge Dart reliable?
Owners rate it 4.75/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
The owner feedback also points to a car that feels dependable in everyday use, with praise for its comfortable cabin, fuel efficiency, and fun-to-drive character. The expert notes reinforce that it’s built on a solid platform and can feel reassuringly straightforward in how it delivers power.
There are also some ownership cautions to keep in mind, including reports of transmission problems and electronic gremlins, so a careful pre-purchase inspection matters if you want to reduce long-term risk.
What should I look for when buying a used 2015 Dodge Dart?
At 50.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a thorough inspection of bodywork, electronics, and any signs of prior repair quality. Because the Dart has a mixed ownership record, condition matters a lot more than mileage alone.
Key things to evaluate:
- Trim level: The SE is the base trim with a 2.0-liter engine, manual transmission, CD player, 16-inch steel wheels, and a USB port. The SXT adds a 2.4-liter engine, Bluetooth, steering-wheel-mounted controls, and cruise control, while the Aero brings the 1.4-liter turbo engine and the Limited adds an 8-inch touchscreen, power seats, 17-inch wheels, and a 7-inch multifunction display. The GT adds a tuned suspension, revised engine calibration, black front fascia, 18-inch wheels, and Nappa leather.
- Powertrain: You get three engine choices: a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder in the SE, a 1.4-liter turbo 4-cylinder in the Aero, and a 2.4-liter 4-cylinder in the SXT, GT, and Limited. The 1.4-liter turbo is the efficiency play, the 2.0-liter is straightforward but not quick, and the 2.4-liter is the strongest and most fun of the group.
- Safety package: Standard safety equipment includes driver and passenger airbags, knee airbags, antilock brakes, child seat latches, electronic stability control, and traction control. Blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-path detection, and parking-assist features are available only on Limited and GT trims.
- Infotainment: The Dart uses a Uconnect AM/FM/CD radio with 6 speakers in most trims, while the SE has 4 speakers. Pricier Aero, GT, and Limited trims get an 8.4-inch Uconnect touchscreen, and the Limited also adds a 7-inch multifunction display in the instrument cluster.
- Fuel efficiency: The 1.4-liter turbo can top 40 mpg on the highway with careful driving, the 2.0-liter returns well into the 30-mpg range on the highway, and the 2.4-liter manages mid-30s highway mileage and low-20s city mileage on regular fuel.
Which 2015 Dodge Dart trim should I buy?
The 2015 Dodge Dart is offered in 5 trim levels: SE, SXT, Aero, GT, and Limited.
Here's the short version:
- SE: This is the cheapest way in, but it’s also the most stripped-down version, with the 2.0-liter engine, manual transmission, steel wheels, and basic audio. It makes sense if your priority is low entry cost and you’re comfortable giving up the nicer tech and convenience features.
- SXT: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds the stronger 2.4-liter engine, Bluetooth, steering-wheel controls, and cruise control without jumping into the pricier trims. It also sits at the center of the lineup and gets the Blacktop appearance package for 2015.
- Aero: Choose this if fuel economy matters most, since it’s the only trim with the 1.4-liter turbo engine and it can be paired with a dual-clutch automatic. It’s the efficiency-focused pick, but it’s more specialized than the SXT.
- GT: This is the performance-oriented trim, with tuned suspension, revised engine calibration, 18-inch wheels, and Nappa leather. It’s the right choice if you want the sportiest Dart and are willing to pay more for it.
- Limited: This is the comfort-and-tech trim, with the 8-inch touchscreen, power seats, 17-inch wheels, and the 7-inch multifunction display. It’s the most upscale-feeling version if you want the Dart’s nicer cabin features.
The safety suite with blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-path detection, and parking-assist features is available only on Limited and GT trims.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2015 Dodge Dart?
This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient.
- Deal availability: 27.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 319 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 1.17% compared with last year.
- Clean inventory: 50.5% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $6,642, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2015 Dodge Dart's resale value?
The current average of $6,782 sits slightly below last year's $6,862.
That mild decline suggests the Dart is holding value reasonably steadily, but not strongly enough to signal a rising market. If you plan to sell later, you should expect resale to depend heavily on condition, trim, and documentation rather than on broad market momentum.
The good news is that the current pricing spread still leaves room for buyers who shop carefully, which can help support demand for clean, well-kept examples. A Dart with strong equipment and a solid service history should be easier to move than one with visible wear or unresolved mechanical concerns.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.75/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Is the 2015 Dodge Dart safe?
The Dodge Dart received five-star ratings from NHTSA overall and mostly Good ratings from IIHS, though it earned only an Acceptable rating in the small-overlap crash test. It also earned four-star rollover ratings and five-star ratings in the other NHTSA tests.
It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.
Standard safety equipment includes driver and passenger airbags, knee airbags, antilock brakes, child seat latches, electronic stability control, and traction control. Blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-path detection, and parking-assist features are available only on Limited and GT trims.
The small-overlap result is the main caveat to keep in mind, especially if you’re comparing the Dart with rivals that posted stronger crash-test results.
Should I buy a 2015 Dodge Dart or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2015 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2015 if:
- 27.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- At 50.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 1.17% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4.75/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
- The 2015 adds a Blacktop appearance package to SXT trims and keeps the Dart’s roomy, value-focused formula intact.
Consider the 2014 if:
- At $6,646, the 2014 costs less than the current year's $6,782 average.
- It emphasizes safety, quality materials, and a standout Uconnect 8.4-inch touchscreen.
Consider the 2016 if:
- At $7,128, the 2016 costs more than the current year's $6,782 average.
- It leans harder into big-car practicality and value with an ultra-frugal optional engine.
The bottom line: If you want the best balance of price, features, and owner satisfaction, the 2015 is the sensible default. If your budget is tighter, the 2014 can save you money, while the 2016 makes sense if you want to spend more for the later-year take on the Dart’s roomy, value-first formula.
