How much does the 2015 Chevrolet Impala cost?

Prices have softened 8.52% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 560 listings available, which suggests a healthy amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2015 Chevrolet Impala a good car?

Yes — the 2015 Chevrolet Impala earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Technology at 9/10.

Drivers consistently praise its smooth ride, roomy interior, stylish design, reliability, and comfort. For you, that means it fits especially well if you want a full-size family sedan that feels easygoing on the road and comfortable for longer drives. It also remains a worthy consideration in its segment, even with the tradeoff in purchase price and fuel economy.

The market also shows 25.5% of listings as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2015 Chevrolet Impala reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback repeatedly points to reliability, comfort, and long-term ownership appeal, with drivers describing the car as a favored choice for extended use. The expert evaluation also describes the Impala as predictable and consistent, which supports the impression that it’s easy to live with over time. The cost-effectiveness assessment adds that quality and reliability are slightly better than average.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about outright dependability and more about finding a well-kept example that hasn’t been worn down by age, mileage, or deferred maintenance.

What should I look for when buying a used 2015 Chevrolet Impala?

At 53.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the car has been in any prior collision. Focus on body alignment, paint consistency, tire wear, and any signs that safety systems or sensors were affected. Because this is a large sedan with a lot of comfort and tech equipment, you’ll also want to confirm that the cabin electronics, cameras, and driver aids work as intended.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The 2LT and 2LTZ are the trims that bring the V6 engine, while the LS is the lower-cost starting point. The base setup is more basic, so if you want the stronger engine and a more upscale feel, you’ll want to shop above entry level.
• Powertrain: The standard setup uses a 4-cylinder engine, while upgrading to the 2LT or 2LTZ gets you a V6. The car is front-drive with a 6-speed automatic, and the V6 is the better fit if you want stronger passing power.
• Safety package: The Advanced Safety Package includes blind-spot monitoring, lane-departure warning, rear cross-traffic alert, and forward-collision warning. The most expensive version can also be paired with adaptive cruise control and front automatic braking.
• Infotainment: MyLink infotainment, OnStar services, and 4G LTE Wi-Fi are part of the appeal, along with three USB ports and text-message readout. The system is built for easy phone pairing and everyday connectivity.
• Fuel efficiency: The EPA says to expect between 18 mpg in the city and 29 mpg on the highway, depending on configuration.

Which 2015 Chevrolet Impala trim should I buy?

The 2015 Chevrolet Impala is offered in 3 trim levels: LS, 2LT, 2LTZ.

Here's the short version:

• LS: This is the entry point, and it makes sense if you want the lowest purchase price and are comfortable with the standard 4-cylinder setup. It’s the trim to consider if value matters most and you don’t need the V6.
• 2LT: This is the best-value choice for most shoppers because it unlocks the V6 and adds the more desirable driving character without jumping all the way to the top of the range. If you want the sweet spot between price and equipment, start here.
• 2LTZ: Choose this if you want the most upscale version and are willing to pay for it. It’s also the trim tied to the most advanced safety setup, including the optional adaptive cruise control system with front automatic braking.

For safety-minded shoppers, the Advanced Safety Package is available on other versions, but the most expensive version is required for the adaptive cruise control and front automatic braking setup.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2015 Chevrolet Impala?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 25.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 560 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.52% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 53.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $10,523, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2015 Chevrolet Impala's resale value?

The current average of $10,527 sits slightly below last year's $11,507.

That decline suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can make the car easier to buy now but may also limit upside if you plan to resell soon. For a future seller, the key takeaway is that value retention looks average rather than exceptional, so condition and equipment will matter a lot when it’s time to list the car again. A well-kept example with desirable features should still be easier to move than a neglected one.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2015 Chevrolet Impala safe?

The 2015 Chevrolet Impala earns five-star ratings from NHTSA and a Good rating in the moderate overlap frontal impact and side impact tests from IIHS.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

The Impala includes 10 airbags and offers OnStar Automatic Crash Response, which can contact help after a deployment if you have an active subscription. It also offers an Advanced Safety Package with blind-spot monitoring, lane-departure warning, rear cross-traffic alert, and forward-collision warning. The most expensive version can be paired with adaptive cruise control and front automatic braking.

One caveat is that the IIHS did not test the car in every assessment, so there is no overall IIHS rating.

Should I buy a 2015 Chevrolet Impala or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2015 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2015 if:

• 25.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 53.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.52% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It combines predictable road manners with strong everyday passing power and a roomy, comfortable cabin.

Consider the 2014 if:

• At $9,916, the 2014 costs less than the current year's $10,527 average.
• It emphasizes styling, upscale-feeling materials, and a more distinctive personality.

The bottom line: If you want the stronger all-around used buy, the 2015 is the better target because it offers solid market availability, strong owner satisfaction, and a favorable price trend. If your priority is spending less up front, the 2014 is the better value play.
