CarGurus Analysis: 2015 Chevrolet Impala
overall

Summary
With 53 currently listed for sale near Dayton, OH and an average price of $10,147, 22.6% of 2015 Chevrolet Impalas for sale on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2015 Chevrolet Impala 5 / 5 stars and CarGurus experts gave it a 7 / 10.
58.5% of 2015 Impala models on CarGurus are accident free.
Why it stands out
The 2015 Chevrolet Impala stands out as a full-size family sedan that delivers the kind of easy, confident driving experience that suits everyday use. It has no trouble merging onto fast-flowing freeways or kicking down a gear for passing power, and what makes it enjoyable to drive is how predictable and consistent it is. That combination gives the Impala a calm, reassuring character that can make a large sedan feel less cumbersome than its size might suggest.
It also has the practical advantages buyers expect from a big car, with just a few inches of extra space and a few cubic feet of additional trunk room compared with smaller alternatives. At the same time, those gains come with tradeoffs in purchase price and fuel economy, which makes its case less straightforward. Even so, the 2015 Chevrolet Impala remains worthy of consideration for shoppers who want a roomy, comfortable sedan with a smooth ride and a stylish design, while keeping in mind that some owners have noted noisy tires and visibility challenges with the side mirror.

#1 this car literally saved mine and my boyfriends life! It took almost a direct broadside hit from a suburban driving 80 mph! Side airbags came out, b/c of the intensity of impact, we still got banged up, but we both walked away! #2- my impala was fully loaded, and so it had all the bells and whistles you could want making it a very comfortable car #3- it looks classy. I had blk on blk, tinted windows, even when it was dirty she still looked good! #4- she was a dream to drive: quiet, smooth, fast when you wanted (thats the only bad part, we have to watch your speed b/c otherwise, you are going close to 90 mph but it feels and sounds like you are going 50mph!) Reliable- never once had any issues with this car, mechanically, electrical, body, etc. I did all the regular maintenance and she never let me down. I cant say enough good things about my impala. I highly, highly recommend this car!

What should I look for when buying a used 2015 Chevrolet Impala?
At 52.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
You should start with a vehicle-history report and then prioritize a careful inspection of bodywork, alignment, and any signs of prior repair. Because some owners mention noisy tires and visibility challenges with the side mirror, it also makes sense to evaluate road noise, outward visibility, and how the car feels in daily driving.
Key things to evaluate:
- Trim level: The standard engine is a 4-cylinder, while the 2LT and 2LTZ are the trims that bring the V6. The interior aims for an upscale look, but the execution is busy, and the more expensive trims are where you get the stronger engine choice.
- Powertrain: The available 3.6-liter V6 makes 305 hp and 264 lb-ft of torque, and the 6-speed automatic is the only transmission. The performance notes say it has no trouble merging or passing, and the EPA estimates range from 18 mpg city to 29 mpg highway depending on configuration.
- Safety package: The available Advanced Safety Package includes blind-spot monitoring, lane-departure warning, rear cross-traffic alert, and forward-collision warning. The most expensive 2LTZ is required if you want the optional adaptive cruise control system with front automatic braking.
- Infotainment: MyLink infotainment works with OnStar 4G LTE Wi-Fi, supports Pandora, and includes three USB ports. It also offers text-message alerts and a storage compartment behind the display screen.
- Fuel efficiency: The EPA says to expect between 18 mpg in the city and 29 mpg on the highway, depending on configuration.
Which 2015 Chevrolet Impala trim should I buy?
The 2015 Chevrolet Impala is offered in 3 trim levels: LS, 2LT, 2LTZ.
Here's the short version:
- LS: This is the entry point, and it makes sense if you want the lowest starting price and can live with the standard 4-cylinder engine. It gives you the Impala’s size and comfort without stepping up to the V6.
- 2LT: This is the best-value choice because it unlocks the satisfying V6 and keeps the Impala’s strong road manners and upscale feel without jumping all the way to the top trim.
- 2LTZ: Choose this if you want the most fully equipped version and are willing to pay for it. It is also the trim tied to the optional adaptive cruise control system with front automatic braking.
For safety equipment, the Advanced Safety Package is available on other versions, while the 2LTZ is the trim needed for the optional adaptive cruise control setup.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2015 Chevrolet Impala?
This looks like a moderate buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile opportunities.
- Deal availability: 28.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 585 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 7.42% compared with last year.
- Clean inventory: 52.1% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $10,523, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2015 Chevrolet Impala's resale value?
The current average of $10,646 sits slightly below last year's $11,499.
That decline suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favorable point in the cycle. If you plan to sell later, the softer pricing means your upside depends more on condition, mileage, and equipment than on broad market appreciation.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Is the 2015 Chevrolet Impala safe?
The 2015 Chevrolet Impala earns five-star ratings from NHTSA and a Good rating in the IIHS moderate overlap frontal impact and side impact tests.
It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.
Chevrolet offers an Advanced Safety Package with blind-spot monitoring, lane-departure warning, rear cross-traffic alert, and forward-collision warning. The most expensive 2LTZ can also be equipped with adaptive cruise control and front automatic braking.
The safety write-up also notes that the IIHS has not tested the Impala in other assessments, so there is no overall IIHS rating available.
Should I buy a 2015 Chevrolet Impala or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2015 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2015 if:
- 28.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- At 52.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 7.42% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
- It stands out for its easy, confident driving character and strong technology score.
Consider the 2014 if:
- At $9,859, the 2014 costs less than the current year's $10,646 average.
- It emphasizes standout styling and a notably impressive ride.
The bottom line: If you want the stronger all-around shopping position, the 2015 is the better primary target because it combines a lower current average price, solid user satisfaction, and good deal availability. If your priority is spending less up front, the 2014 is the better secondary path, especially if you find one in excellent condition.
