Summary
With 306 currently listed for sale and an average price of $12,355, 27.8% of 2015 Cadillac CTS models for sale on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2015 Cadillac CTS 4.5 / 5 stars and CarGurus experts gave it a 7 / 10.

Why it stands out
The 2015 Cadillac CTS stands out as a midsize luxury sport sedan that reflects Cadillac’s ongoing transformation. It gets the fundamentals exactly right, but it also asks for greater attention to detail than some buyers may expect. The CTS Vsport in particular is described as a car that really needs a racetrack to find its limits, which points to the kind of performance capability that makes the car feel especially serious.
That same focus on driving dynamics is part of what makes the 2015 CTS appealing, but its broader challenge is convincing shoppers to consider it in the first place. Owner feedback adds that the car’s design, smooth ride, high-quality interior, and technology are widely appreciated. At the same time, some owners report reliability concerns, especially with the sunroof and engine performance, and limited trunk space is another commonly mentioned drawback.

The left front fender has a dent in it . But its still a good value. The car just needs a fender as far as I can see. Compared to an E Class Mercedes Benz.

This is my second CTS. They got it right...it's perfect across the Board. I wouldn't change anything! 2.0 Turbo is outstanding in terms of torque and power, but easy on gas. Styling is incredible. Fit and trim outstanding. This car is better than the BMW 535...I'm not kidding!

Reviewed a 2015 Cadillac CTS on Jun 8, 2024
The Cadillac CTS is a great looking car, but it has too many reliability issues: sunroof leaks are a big problem ( design flaw), transmission and timing chain issues are common. The older turbo charged 4 cylinder engines have many reports of piston failures as well. I would only buy one if it had the optional 6 cylinder engine, very low miles and proof of proper maintenance performed. Otherwise, the risk outweighs the gain for me. Plenty of information is out there about this model if a person does their homework before buying.

Is the 2015 Cadillac CTS a good car?
Yes — 4.5/5 is a strong user rating for the 2015 Cadillac CTS, and the expert rating is 7/10. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel and Safety.
Owners repeatedly praise the beautiful design, smooth ride, and high-quality interior. They also call out the impressive technology, which lines up with the CTS’s role as a midsize luxury sport sedan that aims to balance style and driving dynamics.
That makes it a strong fit if you want a luxury sedan that feels distinctive and polished rather than anonymous. 30.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so there are still some attractive opportunities in the market.
Is the 2015 Cadillac CTS reliable?
Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
The owner feedback points to a car that many people enjoy living with, but it also flags reliability concerns around the sunroof and engine performance. The expert review adds that Cadillac needs its products to prove faultlessly dependable, and it notes that quality and reliability perceptions have been affected by the technology experience.
For used buyers, that means you should treat condition and maintenance history as especially important, because a well-kept example is likely to be a better long-term bet than one with unresolved electrical or mechanical issues.
What should I look for when buying a used 2015 Cadillac CTS?
At 56.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the car has higher mileage or visible wear. Pay close attention to bodywork consistency, electronic features, and any signs that the car has been repaired after a collision. Because owner feedback mentions reliability concerns, condition matters more than usual here.
Key things to evaluate:
- Trim level: The base version misses equipment that many shoppers expect, including leather upholstery, a split-folding rear seat, a reversing camera, and decent wheels.
- Powertrain: The Vsport uses a twin-turbocharged 3.6-liter V6 with 420 horsepower and 430 lb-ft of torque, plus an 8-speed automatic, rear-wheel drive, paddle shifters, and an electronic locking rear differential.
- Safety package: The Driver Awareness Package adds a reversing camera, rain-sensing wipers, automatic high-beam headlights, blind-spot monitoring with lane-change alert and rear cross-traffic alert, lane-departure warning with lane-keeping assist, and forward-collision warning. The Driver Assist Package adds adaptive cruise control, automatic front and rear braking, and automatic collision-preparation technology with automatic seatbelt tightening.
- Infotainment: Cadillac’s CUE system is the central interface, and the review notes that it relies on touch-based controls rather than knobs and buttons.
- Fuel efficiency: The Vsport returned 17.8 mpg in testing and carries an official 18 mpg combined rating.
Which 2015 Cadillac CTS trim should I buy?
The 2015 Cadillac CTS is offered in 1 trim level: Vsport.
Here's the short version:
The Vsport is the standout choice if you want the CTS at its most compelling. It adds the twin-turbo V6, the electronic locking rear differential, performance brakes, and a performance-tuned Magnetic Ride Control suspension, making it the version that best matches the car’s sport-sedan mission. It suits you best if you care more about driving excitement than bargain pricing.
The safety package note is important here: the Driver Awareness Package is standard on all models except the base version, while the Driver Assist Package requires Premium trim.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2015 Cadillac CTS?
This is a moderate market for selective buyers.
- Deal availability: 30.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 300 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 3.37% compared with last year.
- Clean inventory: 56.7% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $11,980, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2015 Cadillac CTS's resale value?
The current average of $12,525 sits slightly below last year's $12,963.
That tells you the market has softened, which can be good news if you're buying now but less favorable if you're planning to sell soon. A lower current average usually means future resale gains may be limited unless the car is especially well kept or unusually desirable.
For a seller, the key is to preserve condition and documentation so your car stands out in a market where prices have already eased. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Is the 2015 Cadillac CTS safe?
The 2015 Cadillac CTS earns a five-star overall rating from NHTSA and a Good rating from the IIHS.
It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.
Cadillac’s Driver Awareness Package is standard on all models except the base version, and it includes a reversing camera, rain-sensing wipers, automatic high-beam headlights, blind-spot monitoring with lane-change alert and rear cross-traffic alert, lane-departure warning with lane-keeping assist, and forward-collision warning. The Driver Assist Package, which requires Premium trim, adds adaptive cruise control, automatic front and rear braking, and automatic collision-preparation technology with automatic seatbelt tightening.
One caveat is that the CTS has not been subjected to the IIHS small overlap frontal-impact crash test, so you should weigh that gap when comparing it with rivals.
Should I buy a 2015 Cadillac CTS or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2015 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2015 if:
- 30.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- At 56.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 3.37% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
- The 2015 CTS is the first year of the third generation, and it delivers the car’s modern styling, tech, and driving character.
Consider the 2016 if:
- At $13,221, the 2016 costs more than the current year's $12,525 average.
- It is largely carried over, but gets a few key updates that make it more powerful and more tech-savvy.
The bottom line: If you want the better value, the 2015 is the smarter starting point because prices have already softened and the car still delivers the core CTS experience. If you can stretch for the 2016, you may get a slightly more polished version, but price-sensitive buyers should focus on the 2015 and shop carefully for condition and history.
