How much does the 2015 BMW 3 Series cost?

Prices have softened 6.48% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,358 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of options to compare.

Is the 2015 BMW 3 Series a good car?

Yes — the 2015 BMW 3 Series earns a 4.73/5 user rating and a 7.5/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Performance at 9/10. Owners repeatedly praise its solid build quality, impressive handling, and luxurious interior, while also highlighting the smooth driving experience. That lines up with the overview’s focus on a sport-luxury sedan that still leans hard into driving feel, especially if you want a car that prioritizes chassis precision and power over pure practicality. With 32.0% of listings marked as good or great deals, there’s still room to shop selectively.

Is the 2015 BMW 3 Series reliable?

Owners rate it 4.73/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction. The owner feedback also points to a car that feels solidly built, dependable in daily use, and worth counting on for the driving experience it delivers. The expert assessment reinforces that sense of durability by emphasizing the car’s superbly designed chassis and the way it responds with precision to steering, braking, and throttle inputs. BMW also includes standard safety equipment and driver-assist packages that can help support confidence over time. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that higher-mileage examples may bring age-related repair costs, so condition and maintenance history matter a lot.

What should I look for when buying a used 2015 BMW 3 Series?

At 54.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially on cars with higher mileage or incomplete service records. Focus on signs of prior bodywork, uneven panel gaps, tire wear, and any evidence of deferred maintenance. Because some owners mention oil leaks after high mileage, it’s smart to pay close attention to underhood condition and service documentation.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The car is offered in sedan, wagon, and Gran Turismo body styles, with available flavors that range from basic to leather, M-badged equipment, navigation and connectivity options, heated front seats, and parking assistance. BMW also groups options into Sport, Modern, and M-Sport packages, but the base setup is the one most likely to leave you wanting more equipment.
• Powertrain: You can find a 2.0-liter turbo 4-cylinder, a 3.0-liter turbo 6-cylinder, and a 2.0-liter turbodiesel 4-cylinder, with rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive and automatic or manual transmissions depending on configuration. The 328 is described as the best balance for many buyers, while the 320 can feel underpowered and the 335 delivers the strongest performance.
• Safety package: BMW includes standard antilock brakes, front and rear head protection systems, standard and supplemental airbags for driver and passenger, and emergency notification systems if a crash is detected. Driver-assist packages can add blind-spot monitoring, rear- and top-view cameras, lane-departure warnings, and adaptive cruise control.
• Infotainment: The ConnectedDrive system uses a fairly simple layout, and the navigation upgrade adds a larger screen and heads-up driver display. Bluetooth audio streaming, satellite radio, and other features may require separate packages, so you should check carefully for the equipment you want.
• Fuel efficiency: The EPA figures range from 24 mpg city/36 highway/28 combined for the most efficient gas setup to 20/28/23 for the thirstiest 6-cylinder manual, while the diesel returns 32/45/37. All-wheel drive reduces mileage by roughly 5%.

Which 2015 BMW 3 Series trim should I buy?

The 2015 BMW 3 Series is offered in 3 trim levels: 320, 328, 335.

Here's the short version:

• 320: This is the entry point, but the 2.0-liter turbo 4-cylinder can feel underpowered in some situations, so it makes the most sense if you’re focused on price and can live with modest performance.
• 328: This is the best-value choice for most shoppers because the extra power over the 320 makes the car feel much more balanced without jumping all the way to the top-end price.
• 335: This is the performance pick, with the 3.0-liter turbo 6-cylinder delivering the strongest acceleration and the most rewarding driving experience.

BMW also offers driver-assist packages with blind-spot monitoring, rear- and top-view cameras, and Active Driving Assistant, so check the equipment list carefully before you buy.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2015 BMW 3 Series?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient.

• Deal availability: 32.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,358 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.48% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 54.3% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $10,542, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2015 BMW 3 Series's resale value?

The current average of $10,542 sits slightly below last year's $11,273.

That softer pricing suggests the model has already absorbed some depreciation, which can help limit the next owner’s downside if you buy carefully. For a future seller, the key takeaway is that value retention is not especially strong, so condition and mileage will matter even more when it’s time to resell. Well-kept examples with desirable equipment should be easier to move than neglected ones, especially in a market where buyers have plenty of alternatives.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.73/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2015 BMW 3 Series safe?

The 2015 BMW 3 Series earns a five-star overall rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, including five-star ratings in side collision and rollover crash tests. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety also gave it high marks in all crash tests except the small-overlap front test, which earned a marginal rating.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

BMW includes standard antilock brakes, front and rear head protection systems, standard and supplemental airbags for driver and passenger, and emergency notification systems if a crash is detected. Available driver-assist packages can add blind-spot monitoring, rear- and top-view cameras, lane-departure warnings, and adaptive cruise control. The main caveat is the marginal small-overlap front result, so you should pay close attention to crash history and body repair quality on used examples.

Should I buy a 2015 BMW 3 Series or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2015 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2015 if:

• 32.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 54.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.48% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.73/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2015 keeps the 3 Series focused on sedan duty, with strong performance and a tighter, more precise driving feel.

Consider the 2014 if:

• At $10,025, the 2014 costs less than the current year's $10,542 average.
• It emphasizes deft handling, sublime steering, and a polished everyday driving feel.

Consider the 2016 if:

• At $11,782, the 2016 costs more than the current year's $10,542 average.
• It leans harder into sports-car-like performance while still offering four-door practicality.

The bottom line: If you want the best balance of price, performance, and available inventory, the 2015 is the smart default. If you’re especially price-sensitive, the 2014 can save you money, while the 2016 makes sense if you want the stronger performance-first character and are willing to pay more for it.
