CarGurus Analysis: 2015 Acura TLX
overall

Summary
With 461 currently listed for sale and an average price of $13,644, 33.0% of 2015 Acura TLX listings on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2015 Acura TLX 4.73 / 5 stars and CarGurus experts gave it a 7.5 / 10.
50.3% of 2015 Acura TLX listings on CarGurus are accident free.
Why it stands out
The 2015 Acura TLX is a likable near-luxury sedan that stands out for blending rewarding driving dynamics with a long list of modern entertainment and safety technologies. Acura positions it as a more affordable alternative to pricier premium sedans, which makes its value proposition especially appealing for buyers who want a premium feel without the same price point. Its character is also a little unusual: it can feel calm and polished in everyday driving, yet it becomes much more eager when asked to perform.
That appeal is balanced by a few shortcomings. The car is not perfect, and some drivers have noted issues with acceleration as well as a few missing modern amenities that they expected in a luxury vehicle. Even so, the 2015 Acura TLX remains distinctive for offering comfort, technology, and a more engaging driving experience in a package that feels accessible rather than overly expensive.

I just bought a 2015 TLX V6 SH-AWD W/Technology package and it has all the features and power but I personally liked the TLX 4 cylinder model better, its a bit smaller and way better on gas mileage and its a bit funner to drive. But they are both really great cars especially for the price!

Is the 2015 Acura TLX reliable?
Owners rate it 4.73/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
Reviewers describe it as a car with a blend of luxury and affordability, and they repeatedly point to its comfortable ride and powerful engine as reasons it feels dependable to live with. The expert evaluation also says Acura expects it to serve owners well over the long haul, and it notes that the brand’s historical reliability reputation supports that outlook.
The cost-effectiveness assessment adds that Acura’s warranty and roadside assistance are competitive, and that the TLX should deliver average depreciation over time. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that early-model issues and recall history make a careful pre-purchase check especially important.
What should I look for when buying a used 2015 Acura TLX?
At 50.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a thorough inspection of bodywork, alignment, and any signs of prior repair. It also makes sense to focus on how the car drives, since reviewers mention acceleration concerns and the expert notes some transmission behavior that can feel confused in stop-and-go traffic.
Key things to evaluate:
- Trim level: The least expensive version comes with a rear-view camera, keyless push-button ignition, Jewel Eye LED headlamps, LED tail lamps, and a dual-screen infotainment system. The Technology Package adds softer perforated leather, navigation, premium audio, AcuraLink services, rain-sensing wipers, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and forward-collision warning. The Advance Package adds front and rear parking sensors, remote engine start, LED puddle and fog lights, auto-dimming side mirrors, adaptive cruise control, and collision-mitigation braking.
- Powertrain: You can choose a 4-cylinder or a V6 engine, with front-wheel or all-wheel drive. The 2.4-liter 4-cylinder makes 206 hp and is tuned for refined, linear power delivery, while the available 3.5-liter V6 makes 290 hp and is the quicker choice.
- Safety package: The Technology Package adds lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and forward-collision warning. The Advance Package adds road-departure and collision-mitigation braking technology, and the IIHS gives the TLX a Top Safety Pick rating; with the Advance Package, it also earns a Superior front crash-prevention rating.

The Technology Package adds navigation with real-time traffic reports, next-generation AcuraLink services, HD Radio, and a premium sound system.
- Fuel efficiency: The 2.4-liter model returns 28 mpg in combined driving.

- Inventory: There are 461 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 2.18% compared with last year.

What is the 2015 Acura TLX's resale value?
The current average of $13,651 sits slightly below last year's $13,955.
That softer pricing suggests the model has already absorbed some depreciation, which can help a future seller if you buy at the right price. If you purchase near the lower end of the range, you reduce the amount of value left to lose over your ownership period. The TLX’s broad appeal as a comfortable, well-equipped near-luxury sedan should also help keep it relevant with used shoppers.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.73/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2015 Acura TLX or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2015 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2015 if:
- 32.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- At 50.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 2.18% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4.73/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
- The 2015 stands out for rewarding driving dynamics and a long list of modern entertainment and safety technologies.
Consider the 2016 if:
- At $14,736, the 2016 costs more than the current year's $13,651 average.
- It is positioned as a performance luxury sedan with a clearer identity and a renewed brand direction.
The bottom line: If you want the better value play, the 2015 is the smarter starting point because it combines a lower average price with strong owner satisfaction and solid safety equipment. If you’re willing to spend more for the next model year’s sharper positioning, the 2016 is the secondary path to consider.
