There are 280 listings available, which gives you a modest pool of options to compare.

Is the 2014 Volvo S60 a good car?

Generally — you’re looking at a 4/5 user rating and a 7.7/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Safety at 10/10.

Owners consistently praise its comfort, performance, safety features, fuel efficiency, and handling. The S60 also fits shoppers who want a luxury sport sedan with a more individual personality rather than a mainstream status symbol.

With 34.3% of listings marked as good or great deals, there’s enough market activity to make comparison shopping worthwhile.

Is the 2014 Volvo S60 reliable?

Owners rate it 4/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback describes the S60 as reliable and fun, and it also points to dependable ownership impressions alongside strong fuel efficiency and handling. Expert commentary adds that Volvo’s mechanical bits are backed by above-average dependability, and the model was included on a recommended-vehicles list.

Volvo also provides no-cost factory-scheduled service for 3 years or 36,000 miles, which helps reduce early ownership costs. Even so, some used examples have reported mechanical issues and pricey repairs, so a careful pre-purchase inspection matters.

What should I look for when buying a used 2014 Volvo S60?

At 64.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle-history report and then prioritize a thorough inspection of bodywork, safety systems, and repair quality. Because some owners have reported mechanical issues and pricey repairs, condition matters as much as mileage. If you’re comparing multiple listings, focus on maintenance records and signs of incomplete repairs.

• T5 FWD Premier Plus: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds a universal garage door opener and a rear-view camera. If you want a more complete daily driver, this is the trim to target.

• T6 AWD: This is the move if you want all-wheel drive, the stronger 3.0-liter engine, sport seats, 18-inch alloys, driver-selectable steering modes, paddle shifters, and a dynamic chassis. It’s the right pick if driving enjoyment matters more than keeping costs down.
• T6 AWD Premier Plus: This trim builds on the T6 AWD with added convenience and is a good middle ground if you want the stronger powertrain plus more equipment.
• T6 AWD Platinum: Pick this if you want the more fully loaded T6 experience with the premium features and tech upgrades.
• T6 AWD R-Design: This is the enthusiast choice, with unique front and rear styling cues, performance-tuned underpinnings, exclusive upholstery and interior details, and HID headlights. It’s the trim to buy if you want the most engaging personality.
• T6 AWD R-Design Platinum: This is the top-spec performance-oriented version, adding the richest equipment mix to the R-Design formula.
• T6 AWD Premier: This trim sits in the AWD lineup with a more accessible equipment mix than the upper trims.

The safety package note to keep in mind is that the Blind Spot Information System Package adds blind-spot monitoring, cross-traffic alert, lane-change merge aid, and parking sensors.

Should I buy a 2014 Volvo S60 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2014 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2014 if:

• 34.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 64.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.63% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• The 2014 stands out for top-notch safety and a distinctive luxury-sport-sedan personality.

Consider the 2015 if:

• At $8,826, the 2015 costs more than the current year's $8,139 average.
• It brings a fresh look and brand-new Drive-E engines.

The bottom line: If you want the better value today, the 2014 is the stronger starting point because prices are softer and inventory is available. If you’re willing to spend more for a newer feel and updated powertrains, the 2015 is the cleaner upgrade path.
