How much does the 2014 Toyota Corolla cost?

Prices are up 2.36% year-over-year — a sign of continued demand for this model year.

There are 1,442 listings available, which gives you a decent amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2014 Toyota Corolla a good car?

Generally — 4.3/5 from users and 8.00/10 from experts point to a strong all-around used-car choice. The model scores 9/10 across Form and function, Cost effectiveness, and Safety.

Drivers consistently praise its excellent fuel efficiency, reliability, and low maintenance costs. It also comes through as a good value for commuting and long drives, which fits the Corolla’s straightforward daily-driving mission. The main tradeoff is that some owners find it small for families and short on power.

With its focus on efficient, dependable daily driving, the Corolla makes the most sense if you want a practical compact sedan for commuting and long-term use. 31.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2014 Toyota Corolla reliable?

Owners rate it 4.3/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction. User feedback repeatedly points to reliability, low maintenance costs, and a trouble-free ownership experience, and the expert evaluation also describes it as a tremendously reliable addition to your garage.

The performance write-up reinforces that dependability by emphasizing how the engine tuning and CVT mapping help the car make the most of its fuel-sipping 4-cylinder. The cost-effectiveness section also frames the Corolla as a smart buy with near-bulletproof reputation and strong resale expectations.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about mechanical drama and more about finding a well-kept example that still feels fresh enough for daily use.

What should I look for when buying a used 2014 Toyota Corolla?

At 46.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the car has had prior bodywork or multiple owners. Focus on overall condition, maintenance records, and signs of wear that could affect long-term ownership value. Because this is a commuter-focused sedan, a clean, well-maintained example matters more than chasing cosmetic perfection.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base trim includes LED headlights, Bluetooth connectivity, and a USB auxiliary port, while higher trims add hands-free voice controls and Entune app integration. The sport-oriented trim also adds a unique front fascia, rear lip spoiler, leather-wrapped steering wheel, and sport bucket seats.
• Powertrain: The car uses a 1.8-liter inline 4-cylinder with 132 hp in most trims, while the efficiency-focused trim increases output to 140 hp. A 6-speed manual is available on the base and sport trims, and the CVT is standard on most versions.
• Safety package: Toyota’s Star Safety System includes vehicle stability control, traction control, antilock brakes, brake assist, and Smart Stop technology. All trims also get 8 standard airbags, front and rear crumple zones, an energy-absorbing steering column, and a tire pressure monitoring system.
• Infotainment: All trims include Bluetooth and a USB auxiliary port, and the car is available with Entune plus HD radio with live-radio pause capability. The source does not specify a screen size or wireless smartphone integration.
• Fuel efficiency: The 6-speed manual returns 28 mpg city/37 highway, the base automatic gets 27/36, and CVT-equipped versions get 29/38. The efficiency-focused trim is rated at 30/42 with base steel wheels, or 30/40 with 16-inch aluminum wheels.

Which 2014 Toyota Corolla trim should I buy?

The 2014 Toyota Corolla is offered in 4 trim levels: L, LE, LE Eco, S.

Here's the short version:

• L: This is the entry point, and it gives you the Corolla’s core value proposition with LED headlights, Bluetooth, and a USB auxiliary port. It makes sense if you want the lowest-cost way into the model and are comfortable with the simplest equipment set.
• LE: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds more everyday convenience without pushing the price too far. It keeps the Corolla’s efficiency and practicality intact while giving you a more rounded ownership experience.
• LE Eco: This trim is aimed at maximum efficiency, with 140 hp, low-rolling-resistance tires, and fuel-saving tuning. It is the right pick only if you care most about mpg and are willing to accept the tradeoff in real-world drivability.
• S: This is the most distinctive trim, with sportier styling, paddle shifters, Sport mode, and a manual mode for the CVT. Choose it if you want the Corolla to feel a little more engaging and you value the added appearance and cabin upgrades.

All trims include Toyota’s Star Safety System, so you get the same core safety suite regardless of which version you choose.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2014 Toyota Corolla?

• Inventory: There are 1,442 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices are up 2.36% year-over-year.

What is the 2014 Toyota Corolla's resale value?

The current average of $11,033 sits slightly above last year's $10,779.

That upward move suggests the Corolla is holding value reasonably well for a used compact sedan. If you buy one in good condition, you should have a decent chance of preserving value because demand remains supported by its reputation for efficiency and low ownership costs. The relatively stable pricing also suggests that clean examples are still getting attention from shoppers.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.3/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2014 Toyota Corolla safe?

Should I buy a 2014 Toyota Corolla or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2014 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2014 if:

• 31.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 46.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices are up 2.36% year-over-year.
• Owners rate it 4.3/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• It marks the start of the Corolla’s eleventh generation, with a strong emphasis on efficient, dependable daily driving.

Consider the 2015 if:

• At $11,802, the 2015 costs more than the current year's $11,033 average.
• It adds a bit more style and a modest dose of fun to the commute.

The bottom line: If you want the better value play, the 2014 is the smarter starting point because it combines strong owner satisfaction, solid safety, and a lower average price. If you’re willing to pay more for a slightly fresher-feeling alternative, the 2015 is worth a look, but price-sensitive buyers should focus on the 2014 and shop carefully for a clean, well-maintained example.
