How much does the 2014 Toyota Corolla cost?

Prices are up 1.95% year-over-year — a sign of continued demand for this model year.

There are 1,442 listings available, which suggests you have a meaningful amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2014 Toyota Corolla a good car?

Generally — the 2014 Toyota Corolla earns a 4.3/5 user rating and an 8.0/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Form and function, Cost effectiveness, and Safety.

Drivers consistently praise its excellent fuel efficiency, reliability, and low maintenance costs. The user feedback also points to strong value for commuting and long drives, which fits the Corolla’s role as a straightforward compact sedan built for everyday use. The overview reinforces that this is a car aimed at efficient daily driving and long-term ownership rather than flash.

31.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so there is still some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2014 Toyota Corolla reliable?

Owners rate it 4.3/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback repeatedly highlights reliability, low maintenance costs, and a dependable ownership experience. The expert review also describes the Corolla as a tremendously reliable addition to your garage and a smart choice for affordable, compact daily motoring. Toyota’s tuning and CVT mapping are presented as working well to make the most of the fuel-sipping 4-cylinder.

The ownership risk for used buyers is mostly about finding a well-kept example, since long-term value depends on condition and maintenance history.

What should I look for when buying a used 2014 Toyota Corolla?

At 47.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the car has had prior body damage or inconsistent maintenance. Focus on overall condition, because the Corolla’s appeal is tied to dependable daily use and low running costs. If you want the best ownership experience, look for a clean, well-documented example rather than chasing the lowest sticker price.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base L keeps things simple, while the S adds a unique front fascia, rear lip spoiler, leather-wrapped steering wheel, and sport bucket seats.
• Powertrain: The Corolla uses a 1.8-liter inline 4-cylinder with 132 hp in most trims, while the LE Eco increases output to 140 hp and emphasizes efficiency.
• Safety package: Toyota’s Star Safety System includes vehicle stability control, traction control, antilock brakes, brake assist, and Smart Stop technology. All trims also include 8 standard airbags.
• Infotainment: All trims include Bluetooth connectivity and a USB auxiliary port, and the Corolla is available with Entune and HD radio capability.

Which 2014 Toyota Corolla trim should I buy?

The 2014 Toyota Corolla is offered in 4 trim levels: L, LE, LE Eco, S.

Here's the short version:

• L: This is the entry point, and it gives you the Corolla’s core value proposition with the standard safety and tech equipment. It makes sense if you want the lowest starting price and can live without extra features.
• LE: This is the best-value choice for most shoppers because it adds a more upscale step up without pushing into the efficiency-focused LE Eco or the sportier S. It should suit you if you want a balanced daily driver.
• LE Eco: This trim is aimed at efficiency-minded buyers, but the review suggests the real-world payoff is limited. It is best only if you specifically want the efficiency focus.
• S: This is the most distinctive trim, with sport-oriented styling and added driving modes. It suits you if you want the Corolla’s most expressive look and a little more character.

All trims come with Toyota’s Star Safety System, and the Corolla’s standard safety equipment is a strong part of the lineup.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2014 Toyota Corolla?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but still move quickly on the right car.

• Deal availability: 31.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,442 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices are up 1.95% year-over-year.
• Clean inventory: 47.2% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $10,829, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2014 Toyota Corolla's resale value?

The current average of $11,154 sits slightly above last year's $10,941.

That year-over-year increase suggests the Corolla is holding value reasonably well for a compact sedan in this segment. The price trend also points to steady buyer interest, which can help support future resale if you keep the car in good condition. Strong owner satisfaction and a reputation for low running costs should continue to help demand when it is time to sell.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.3/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2014 Toyota Corolla safe?

The Corolla earns a Top Safety Pick from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Toyota’s Star Safety System is standard and includes vehicle stability control, traction control, antilock brakes, brake assist, and Smart Stop technology. The Corolla also comes with 8 standard airbags, front and rear crumple zones, an energy-absorbing steering column, and a tire pressure monitoring system. All trims share this safety package.

Should I buy a 2014 Toyota Corolla or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2014 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2014 if:

• 31.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 47.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices are up 1.95% year-over-year.
• Owners rate it 4.3/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• The 2014 marks the start of the Corolla’s eleventh generation, bringing updated styling and a strong efficiency focus.

Consider the 2015 if:

• At $11,845, the 2015 costs more than the current year's $11,154 average.
• It adds a more stylish and slightly more engaging everyday-driving character.

The bottom line: If you want the better value play, the 2014 is the stronger starting point because it combines a lower average price with solid owner satisfaction and broad market availability. If you are willing to pay more for a newer model-year feel and a bit more style, the 2015 is the alternative to compare.

How does the 2014 Toyota Corolla compare to the 2014 Honda Civic?

Our experts score the 2014 Toyota Corolla 8/10 and the 2014 Honda Civic 8.2/10.

The Corolla is the more value-focused choice, with a lower average used price and a stronger emphasis on reliability, efficiency, and low maintenance costs. The Civic brings a bit more power and slightly better city fuel economy, while the Corolla counters with a lower price and a larger pool of listings. If you want the more affordable, straightforward commuter, the Corolla makes sense; if you want a little more performance and can spend more, the Civic has the edge.
