How much does the 2014 Toyota Corolla cost?

Prices are up 3.15% year-over-year — a sign of continued demand for this model year.

There are 1,431 listings available, which gives you a decent amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2014 Toyota Corolla a good car?

Generally — the 4.3/5 user rating and 8/10 expert rating point to a Corolla that delivers strong everyday value. The model scores 9/10 across Form and function, Cost effectiveness, and Safety.

Drivers consistently praise its excellent fuel efficiency, reliability, and low maintenance costs, and many also see it as a strong value for commuting and longer drives. The Corolla’s practical, commuter-friendly character fits buyers who want affordable daily transportation with long-term usefulness. That said, the overview also makes clear that it is aimed more at efficient, dependable driving than at excitement.

There are 30.3% of listings priced as good or great deals, so you still have some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2014 Toyota Corolla reliable?

Owners rate it 4.3/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback repeatedly points to reliability, low maintenance costs, and a car that feels dependable for commuting and long drives. The expert evaluation also describes it as a tremendously reliable addition to your garage and emphasizes its fuel-efficient daily motoring. The cost-effectiveness commentary adds that Toyota’s reputation has reached near-bulletproof status, which reinforces the Corolla’s dependability story.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about durability and more about finding a well-kept example that has been maintained properly.

What should I look for when buying a used 2014 Toyota Corolla?

At 46.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the car has had prior bodywork or multiple owners. Focus on overall condition, maintenance records, and signs of wear that could affect long-term ownership value. Because this model is often bought for commuting, a clean, well-documented example is especially worth the extra scrutiny.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The lineup includes the base L, LE, LE Eco, and S. The base trim is the most stripped-down, while higher trims add more convenience and style touches, and the S stands apart with a sportier look and cabin treatment.
• Powertrain: The Corolla uses a 1.8-liter inline 4-cylinder with 132 hp in most trims, while the LE Eco is tuned for efficiency and makes 140 hp. A 6-speed manual is available in the base L and S, a 4-speed automatic is standard on the L, and a CVT is available on the L and standard elsewhere.
• Safety package: Toyota’s Star Safety System is standard and includes vehicle stability control, traction control, antilock brakes, brake assist, and Smart Stop technology. All trims also get 8 standard airbags, crumple zones, an energy-absorbing steering column, and a tire pressure monitoring system.
• Infotainment: All trims include Bluetooth and a USB auxiliary port, and the Corolla is available with Entune, HD radio, and the ability to pause live radio. Higher trims add hands-free voice controls.
• Fuel efficiency: The 6-speed manual returns 28 mpg city/37 highway, the base L with the 4-speed automatic gets 27/36, and the L, LE, and S with the CVT get 29/38. The LE Eco gets 30/42 with base steel wheels, or 30/40 with 16-inch aluminum wheels.

Which 2014 Toyota Corolla trim should I buy?

The 2014 Toyota Corolla is offered in 4 trim levels: L, LE, LE Eco, and S.

Here's the short version:

• L: This is the entry point, and it makes sense if you want the lowest starting price and are comfortable with the most basic setup. It still gets standard LED headlights, Bluetooth, a USB auxiliary port, and Toyota’s Star Safety System, so you are not giving up the essentials.
• LE: This is the best-value choice for most shoppers because it adds a more well-rounded everyday setup without pushing into the higher-priced sport or efficiency-focused variants. It keeps the Corolla’s core strengths intact while giving you a more balanced ownership experience.
• LE Eco: This trim is for buyers who are chasing maximum efficiency, but the content suggests the real-world payoff is limited. It is the one to skip if you care more about everyday drivability than squeezing out the last bit of fuel economy.
• S: Choose this if you want the sportier appearance and a little more personality. It adds a unique front fascia, rear lip spoiler, leather-wrapped steering wheel, sport bucket seats, and CVT sport and manual modes with paddle shifters.

All trims come with Toyota’s Star Safety System.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2014 Toyota Corolla?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find reasonable options.

• Deal availability: 30.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,431 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices are up 3.15% year-over-year.
• Clean inventory: 46.6% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $10,759, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2014 Toyota Corolla's resale value?

The current average of $11,150 sits slightly above last year's $10,810.

That upward move suggests the Corolla continues to hold buyer interest rather than slipping quickly in value. For a future seller, that matters because steady demand can help support pricing when you decide to trade in or list the car privately. The model’s reputation for efficiency and low ownership costs also helps keep it relevant in the used market.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.3/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2014 Toyota Corolla safe?

The Corolla earns a Top Safety Pick from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Toyota’s Star Safety System is standard, with vehicle stability control, traction control, antilock brakes, brake assist, and Smart Stop technology. The Corolla also includes 8 standard airbags, front and rear crumple zones, an energy-absorbing steering column, and a tire pressure monitoring system. That said, the safety content notes that the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration had not yet rated the 2014 Corolla.

Should I buy a 2014 Toyota Corolla or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2014 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2014 if:

• 30.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 46.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices are up 3.15% year-over-year.
• Owners rate it 4.3/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• It launches the Corolla’s eleventh generation with a strong focus on efficiency and long-term usefulness.

Consider the 2015 if:

• At $11,898, the 2015 costs more than the current year's $11,150 average.
• It adds a bit more style and a more enjoyable everyday-driving feel.

The bottom line: If you want the lower-priced, proven version of this generation, the 2014 is the better starting point. If you are willing to pay more for a slightly fresher take with a bit more style, the 2015 is worth a look. For price-sensitive buyers, the 2014 remains the smarter value play.
