How much does the 2014 Toyota Corolla cost?

Prices are up 1.71% year-over-year — a sign of continued demand for this model year.

There are 1,465 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of options to compare.

Is the 2014 Toyota Corolla a good car?

Generally — 4.3/5 from owners and 8.0/10 from experts point to a strong used-car case. The model scores 9/10 across Form and function, Cost effectiveness, and Safety.

Drivers repeatedly praise its excellent fuel efficiency, reliability, and low maintenance costs. The review summary also points to strong value for commuting and long drives, while the overview frames it as an easy-to-live-with compact sedan aimed at long-term reliability. That combination makes it especially appealing if you want practical daily transportation rather than flash.

30.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so there are still worthwhile opportunities in the market.

Is the 2014 Toyota Corolla reliable?

Owners rate it 4.3/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The review summary highlights reliability, low maintenance costs, and a reputation for dependable ownership. The expert evaluation also describes it as a tremendously reliable addition to your garage and a smart buy for long-term daily use. The cost-effectiveness commentary reinforces that reputation by calling Toyota’s reliability perception near-bulletproof.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about the Corolla’s core durability and more about finding one that has been maintained well and not worn down by years of commuting.

What should I look for when buying a used 2014 Toyota Corolla?

At 47.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the car has higher mileage or incomplete service records. Focus on overall condition, signs of prior bodywork, and whether the car feels consistent with its reputation for low running costs and easy ownership. If you’re comparing multiple listings, the cleanest example is usually worth paying a little more for.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base L is the most stripped-down version, while the S adds a sportier look and more engaging cabin touches. The LE Eco is tuned for efficiency, but the content warns that its real-world gains may not justify the extra cost.
• Powertrain: The Corolla uses a 1.8-liter inline 4-cylinder with 132 hp in most trims, while the LE Eco increases output to 140 hp through Toyota’s VVT-i setup. A 6-speed manual is available on the L and S, and the CVT is standard on most trims.
• Safety package: Toyota’s Star Safety System includes vehicle stability control, traction control, antilock brakes, brake assist, and Smart Stop technology. Standard safety equipment also includes 8 airbags, crumple zones, an energy-absorbing steering column, and tire pressure monitoring.
• Infotainment: All trims include Bluetooth connectivity and a USB auxiliary port, and the car is available with Entune. Higher trims add hands-free voice controls, and the system also offers HD radio with live-radio pause.
• Fuel efficiency: The base L with the 4-speed automatic gets 27 mpg city and 36 mpg highway, while the CVT-equipped L, LE, and S return 29 mpg city and 38 mpg highway. The LE Eco is rated at 30 mpg city and 42 mpg highway with base steel wheels.

Which 2014 Toyota Corolla trim should I buy?

The 2014 Toyota Corolla is offered in 4 trim levels: L, LE, LE Eco, S.

Here's the short version:

• L: This is the entry point, and it gives you the Corolla’s core strengths at the lowest starting price. It’s the best fit if you want the simplest path into the model and don’t need extra features.
• LE: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds more everyday comfort and convenience without pushing into the efficiency-focused LE Eco’s tradeoffs. It’s the trim to target if you want a balanced used Corolla.
• LE Eco: This trim is for buyers who care most about fuel economy, but the content suggests the real-world payoff may be limited. Choose it only if efficiency is your top priority.
• S: This is the most style- and driver-focused version, with a sportier appearance, sport bucket seats, paddle shifters, and a manual mode for the CVT. It suits you best if you want the Corolla to feel a little more engaging.

All trims include Toyota’s Star Safety System, which is a meaningful safety advantage across the lineup.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2014 Toyota Corolla?

This is a moderate, selective-buyer market, so you should shop carefully and move quickly on the right listing.

• Deal availability: 30.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,465 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices are up 1.71% year-over-year.
• Clean inventory: 47.2% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $10,832, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2014 Toyota Corolla's resale value?

The current average of $11,136 sits slightly above last year's $10,950.

That upward move suggests the Corolla continues to hold buyer interest well in the used market. Its reputation for reliability and low ownership costs helps support demand, especially among shoppers who want a practical commuter car. If you buy well and keep the car in good condition, the Corolla’s broad appeal should help it remain easy to resell later.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.3/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2014 Toyota Corolla safe?

The Corolla earns a Top Safety Pick from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety equipment includes 8 airbags, front and rear crumple zones, an energy-absorbing steering column, and a tire pressure monitoring system. Toyota’s Star Safety System is standard on all trims and includes vehicle stability control, traction control, antilock brakes, brake assist, and Smart Stop technology. That broad standard safety package is a major strength for used buyers.

Should I buy a 2014 Toyota Corolla or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2014 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2014 if:

• 30.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 47.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices are up 1.71% year-over-year.
• Owners rate it 4.3/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• The 2014 marks the start of the Corolla’s eleventh generation, which reinforces its role as a straightforward, affordable compact sedan.

Consider the 2015 if:

• At $11,841, the 2015 costs more than the current year's $11,136 average.
• It is described as dependable, sensible, and a bit more stylish.

The bottom line: The 2014 is the better pick if you want the lower average price and a strong value story. If you’re willing to spend more for a newer model year, the 2015 offers a slightly more polished take on the same practical formula.

How does the 2014 Toyota Corolla compare to the 2014 Honda Civic?

Our experts score the 2014 Toyota Corolla 8/10 and the 2014 Honda Civic 8.2/10.

The Corolla leans harder into low running costs, reliability, and straightforward daily usefulness, while the Civic edges it on expert score and engine output. The Corolla also has the stronger average used price and a slightly better good-and-great deal share, while the Civic offers a bit more horsepower and a slightly higher accident-free share. If you want the more value-focused choice, the Corolla makes sense; if you want the slightly stronger all-around package, the Civic has the edge.
