Used 2014 Nissan Rogue for Sale nearWashington, DC

How much does the 2014 Nissan Rogue cost?

Prices have softened 5.86% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,292 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2014 Nissan Rogue a good car?

Yes — the 2014 Nissan Rogue earns a 4.8/5 user rating and a 6.7/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Safety at 9/10.

Owners consistently praise its smooth ride, excellent fuel mileage, and user-friendly nature. The overview also points to a practical compact SUV with strong value for the money, which fits shoppers who want a sensible daily driver rather than a feature-packed luxury crossover. Even with some rear-seat tightness and a few wish-list items, the Rogue’s broad appeal comes through clearly.

Good and great deals account for 29.6% of listings, so there’s still room to find a competitive offer.

Is the 2014 Nissan Rogue reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to a vehicle that feels dependable, with many drivers describing it as a model they trust for everyday use. The expert cost-effectiveness notes say Nissan has generally shown above-average dependability, and that the model is expected to be relatively inexpensive to own and operate. The same analysis also suggests the brand’s reliability can be less consistent than some rivals, so condition and maintenance history matter.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that this redesign does not have the same proven track record as a carryover model.

What should I look for when buying a used 2014 Nissan Rogue?

At 51.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the listing price looks unusually attractive. Focus on body condition, signs of prior repair, and whether the vehicle’s equipment and safety features still function as expected. If you’re comparing multiple Rogues, the cleanest history and best maintenance record should carry extra weight.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The lineup includes S, SV, and SL trims, and the lower trims leave out some of the richer convenience and safety equipment found higher up. The SL adds leather seats with heating, navigation, a premium Bose audio system, a power rear liftgate, fog lights, 18-inch aluminum wheels, heated exterior mirrors with LED turn-signal indicators, and Around View Monitoring. The SV sits in the middle and is the better value if you want more equipment without stepping all the way up to the SL.
• Powertrain: You get a 170-horsepower, 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine with a continuously variable transmission. Front-wheel drive is standard, and all-wheel drive is available. The setup is tuned for efficiency and everyday use, with EPA-rated fuel economy of 28 mpg regardless of drivetrain choice.
• Safety package: The Rogue includes a reversing camera and a hands-free text-messaging assistant, while the SV adds smart automatic headlights. The optional Premium Package on the SV adds navigation, Around View Monitor, Lane-Departure Warning, Blind-Spot Warning, and Moving-Object Detection. Forward-Collision Warning is reserved for the SL with its own Premium Package.
• Infotainment: NissanConnect is standard on the SV and SL trims, and the SL’s navigation system uses a 7-inch screen. It supports smartphone connectivity, Bluetooth calling, and hands-free text messaging, and it also includes NissanConnect Apps.
• Fuel efficiency: The Rogue is EPA-rated at 26 mpg city and 28 mpg combined, and the expert test drive returned 24.4 mpg in mixed suburban driving.

Which 2014 Nissan Rogue trim should I buy?

The 2014 Nissan Rogue is offered in 3 trim levels: Rogue S, Rogue SV, Rogue SL.

Here's the short version:

• Rogue S: This is the entry point, and it makes sense if you want the lowest-cost way into the redesigned Rogue. It gives you the core powertrain and available third-row seating, but you’ll miss out on much of the convenience and safety tech that makes the higher trims more appealing.
• Rogue SV: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it unlocks NissanConnect and can be paired with the optional Premium Package. That package adds navigation, Around View Monitor, Lane-Departure Warning, Blind-Spot Warning, and Moving-Object Detection, making the SV the sweet spot for features and price.
• Rogue SL: Choose this if you want the most upscale Rogue experience. It adds leather seats with heating, a premium Bose audio system, a power rear liftgate, fog lights, 18-inch wheels, heated mirrors with LED turn signals, and standard Around View Monitoring. Its Premium Package also brings Forward-Collision Warning.

The safety package is strongest on the SL with the Premium Package, which is the only trim that gets Forward-Collision Warning.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2014 Nissan Rogue?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully without feeling rushed.

• Deal availability: 29.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,292 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.86% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 51.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $8,346, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2014 Nissan Rogue's resale value?

The current average of $8,346 sits slightly below last year's $8,866.

That decline suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a better entry point today. For a future seller, it also means you should expect resale value to depend heavily on condition, mileage, and equipment rather than on broad market appreciation. Well-kept examples with desirable features should hold up better than rougher, higher-mileage listings.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2014 Nissan Rogue safe?

The 2014 Rogue earns a Top Safety Pick rating from IIHS, and the Rogue SL with the Premium Package earns Top Safety Pick+.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety equipment includes a reversing camera and a hands-free text-messaging assistant, while the SV adds smart automatic headlights. The available Premium Package on the SV adds navigation, Around View Monitor, Lane-Departure Warning, Blind-Spot Warning, and Moving-Object Detection. On the SL, Forward-Collision Warning is bundled into its own Premium Package.

One caveat is that the reversing camera is low-resolution, which can make backing up less confidence-inspiring than you might expect.

Should I buy a 2014 Nissan Rogue or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2014 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2014 if:

• 29.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 51.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.86% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2014 brings a full redesign with available safety equipment that stands out for the price.

Consider the 2015 if:

• At $9,296, the 2015 costs more than the current year's $8,346 average.
• It adds a more polished, mature look with more graceful headlights and grille.

The bottom line: If you want the better value, the 2014 is the stronger buy because it combines a lower average price with solid owner satisfaction and strong safety equipment. If you’re willing to spend more for a slightly more refined appearance, the 2015 is the cleaner stylistic choice.
