Used 2014 Nissan Frontier for Sale near Oregon

How much does the 2014 Nissan Frontier cost?

Prices have softened 3.16% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 421 listings available, which gives you a modest pool of trucks to compare.

Is the 2014 Nissan Frontier a good car?

Generally — the 2014 Nissan Frontier earns a 4.4/5 user rating and a 6.5/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Performance at 9/10.

Owners commonly praise its reliability, good fuel economy, and decent interior design. The Frontier’s straightforward, work-ready character also fits buyers who want a small truck for weekend use, including surfing trips or off-roading excursions.

At the same time, its appeal is narrower than a do-everything pickup, and the market reflects that with 29.7% of listings priced as good or great deals.

Is the 2014 Nissan Frontier reliable?

Owners rate it 4.4/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback points to reliability, and the truck is also described as dependable and a vehicle owners can count on. The expert evaluation reinforces that with favorable quality and reliability language, even while noting the truck’s age and value tradeoffs.

The Frontier’s durability story is strongest when you find one that has been maintained well, because condition and prior use matter a lot on a truck this old.

What should I look for when buying a used 2014 Nissan Frontier?

At 62.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a hands-on inspection of the body, frame, and cargo area for signs of prior damage or neglect. Because value concerns often hinge on condition, you’ll want to focus on how the truck was used and whether wear matches the asking price.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Frontier S is a basic truck with a 4-cylinder engine and manual transmission, while the SV adds alloy wheels, power accessories, a tilt steering wheel, a 4.3-inch color radio display, satellite radio, a USB port and an auxiliary audio input jack. The Desert Runner adds special styling, fog lights, Bilstein shock absorbers and off-road tires, the PRO-4X adds locking rear differential and skid plates, and the SL adds 18-inch alloy wheels and side steps.
• Powertrain: You can equip a Frontier with a 4- or 6-cylinder engine and rear-wheel or 4-wheel drive in various configurations. The 4-cylinder is the simpler choice, while the V6 brings more capability and stronger towing.
• Safety package: The Frontier includes antilock brakes, stability control, a limited-slip differential, rear parking sensors and a back-up camera. The PRO-4X adds off-road hardware, while the SL loses the off-roading equipment.
• Infotainment: The optional NissanConnect system includes Bluetooth smartphone pairing with streaming audio, a text-messaging assistant, live traffic updates, gas prices at nearby stations, mobile applications, navigation and voice commands. The touchscreen is rather small and can suffer from sun glare.
• Fuel efficiency: The Frontier’s official EPA-rated combined figure is 17 mpg, and the test truck averaged 14.6 mpg. The standard 4-cylinder is described as a more basic option, but no separate mpg figure is stated for it.

Which 2014 Nissan Frontier trim should I buy?

The 2014 Nissan Frontier is offered in 5 trim levels: S, SV, Desert Runner, PRO-4X and SL.

Here's the short version:

• S: This is the simplest Frontier, with a 4-cylinder engine, a manual transmission and 15-inch steel wheels. It makes sense if you want the lowest-frills entry point and can live without much equipment.
• SV: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds 16-inch alloy wheels, power accessories, a tilt steering wheel, a 4.3-inch color radio display, satellite radio, a USB port and an auxiliary audio input jack. If you want a more usable daily driver without jumping into the pricier off-road trims, this is the one to target.
• Desert Runner: This trim is for buyers who want a RWD truck with a tougher look and off-road flavor, thanks to special styling, fog lights, Bilstein shock absorbers and off-road tires.
• PRO-4X: This is the choice for serious off-road ambitions, with off-road tires, Bilstein shocks, a locking rear differential, underbody skid plates and automatic headlights. The Luxury package adds a sunroof, roof rack with cross bars, leather upholstery, power-adjustable front seats and NissanConnect.
• SL: This trim keeps most of the PRO-4X Luxury package’s comfort and convenience features but drops the off-road equipment. It adds 18-inch alloy wheels and side steps, so it suits you if you want a more upscale feel without the trail hardware.

The safety content notes that the Frontier is pretty standard for safety-related technology, so you should not expect advanced driver-assistance features on these trims.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2014 Nissan Frontier?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you have room to shop carefully rather than rush.

• Deal availability: 29.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 421 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.16% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 62.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $13,038, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2014 Nissan Frontier's resale value?

The current average of $13,341 sits slightly below last year's $13,776.

That softer pricing suggests the truck has lost some value over the past year, which can work against a future seller if the market stays soft. On the other hand, the current price range also means buyers may be more willing to shop used examples, especially if the truck is clean and well maintained.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.4/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2014 Nissan Frontier safe?

The 2014 Nissan Frontier earns a Good rating from IIHS for moderate overlap frontal impact, side impact and roof crush protection, and an Acceptable rating for rear-impact seat and head restraint protection. It also gets a four-star rating from NHTSA for rollover resistance in 4WD form, while RWD models get a three-star rating.

It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

The Frontier’s safety equipment is pretty standard and includes antilock brakes, stability control, a limited-slip differential, rear parking sensors and a back-up camera. It does not bring the advanced driver-assistance technology you’ll find in newer full-size trucks, so you should lean heavily on condition and maintenance history when shopping used.

Should I buy a 2014 Nissan Frontier or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2014 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2014 if:

• 29.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 62.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.16% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.4/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• The Frontier’s appeal is its rugged, work-ready character and weekend-friendly utility, especially for buyers who want a small truck for surfing trips or off-roading excursions.

The bottom line: The 2014 Frontier makes the most sense if you want a simple, capable small truck and you’re willing to accept its weak fuel economy and limited cargo usefulness. If you’re price-sensitive, this year’s softer pricing and decent deal share make it worth a look, but you should still compare condition carefully against newer or cleaner alternatives.
