How much does the 2014 Mercedes-Benz CLA cost?

There are 237 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of options to compare.

Is the 2014 Mercedes-Benz CLA a good car?

Yes — the 2014 Mercedes-Benz CLA earns a 4.9/5 user rating and a 5.2/10 expert rating. The model scores 8/10 across Look and feel and Form and function.

Owners consistently praise its stylish design, sporty handling, fuel efficiency, and quick acceleration. The overview also points to a compact luxury package that feels roomier, more practical, more stylish, and more capable than expected, which helps explain its broad appeal if you want a Mercedes-Benz badge in an attention-getting package. You should still weigh that against the car’s starter-luxury positioning and the limited options some owners mention.

27.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so there is still some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2014 Mercedes-Benz CLA reliable?

Owners rate it 4.9/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owners also describe it as reliable and highlight its trouble-free feel, dependable performance, and quick acceleration. The expert test-drive notes reinforce that it can feel capable and satisfying when properly equipped, and the ownership-cost commentary suggests the fuel economy numbers are realistic. The first scheduled maintenance visit is on the house.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that this car’s newness and premium ownership costs can make surprises more expensive than you might expect.

What should I look for when buying a used 2014 Mercedes-Benz CLA?

At 52.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle-history report and then prioritize a careful inspection of bodywork, visibility-related equipment, and any signs of wear from city driving. Because the car’s packaging and feature content vary a lot by equipment level, it is worth confirming exactly which convenience and safety items are present on the specific listing you are considering. Focus on condition first, then decide whether the car’s style and equipment match the price.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base car emphasizes style, but the content shows important feature gaps at lower equipment levels, including missing items such as a reversing camera, blind-spot assist, lane-keeping assist, and automatic climate control unless you move up through option packages.
• Powertrain: The car uses a turbocharged 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine with 208 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque, paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch automated manual transmission; 4Matic all-wheel drive is available, and the setup is tuned for strong acceleration and fuel-saving behavior.
• Safety package: The standard equipment list includes rain-sensing wipers, Attention Assist, and basic Collision Prevention Assist. Additional driver-assistance features such as blind-spot assist, lane-keeping assist, adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, and Collision Prevention Assist Plus are bundled into higher-cost packages.
• Infotainment: The car can have a Becker MapPilot navigation system, Bluetooth hands-free calling with text-message support, and a USB port. The interface is described as slow and not especially intuitive, and the screen setup is criticized for looking tacked on.
• Fuel efficiency: The EPA combined figure is 27 mpg, and the test car returned 26.4 mpg in mixed driving.

Which 2014 Mercedes-Benz CLA trim should I buy?

The 2014 Mercedes-Benz CLA is offered in 1 trim level: CLA250.

Here's the short version:

The CLA250 is the trim to focus on if you want the car’s style, turbocharged performance, and compact-luxury appeal in one package. It delivers the core Mercedes-Benz look and the 208-hp turbocharged 2.0-liter engine, but you should pay close attention to option content because many desirable convenience and safety features are not standard. If you want the best value, look for a well-equipped example that already has the visibility and driver-assistance items you care about.

The safety-package note is simple: the standard car includes rain-sensing wipers, Attention Assist, and basic Collision Prevention Assist, while more advanced driver-assistance features require additional packages.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2014 Mercedes-Benz CLA?

This is a moderate, selective-buyer market, so you can shop with some leverage if you stay disciplined.

• Deal availability: 27.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 237 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.62% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 52.3% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $10,566, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2014 Mercedes-Benz CLA's resale value?

The current average of $10,740 sits slightly below last year's $11,883.

That decline suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you as a buyer but may limit upside if you plan to sell soon. If you buy at the right price and keep the car in strong condition, you can reduce the impact of further depreciation. The model’s style and brand appeal should still help it remain recognizable to future shoppers.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.9/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2014 Mercedes-Benz CLA safe?

It earns a 4/10 safety score from our experts.

The standard safety content includes rain-sensing wipers, Attention Assist, and basic Collision Prevention Assist. Higher-level driver-assistance features such as blind-spot assist, lane-keeping assist, adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, and Collision Prevention Assist Plus are available only through additional packages. The visibility challenges from the car’s swept roofline and small windows make those upgrades especially worth considering.

Should I buy a 2014 Mercedes-Benz CLA or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2014 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2014 if:

• 27.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 52.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.62% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.9/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2014 stands out for its style-first appeal, compact-luxury packaging, and the way it feels roomier, more practical, more stylish, and more capable than expected.

The bottom line: If you want the 2014 CLA’s style, brand image, and compact footprint, it remains a compelling used buy as long as you shop carefully and verify condition. If you are more price-sensitive, focus on the cleanest, best-equipped example you can find rather than chasing the cheapest listing, because the feature gaps and accident history matter a lot on this model.
