How much does the 2014 GMC Yukon XL cost?

Prices have softened 9.37% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 396 listings available, which gives you a meaningful pool to compare prices and conditions.

Is the 2014 GMC Yukon XL a good car?

With a user rating of 3.5/5, the 2014 GMC Yukon XL looks like a practical choice if you want a full-size SUV built around space, strength, and traditional truck-based capability. Its long-wheelbase design gives you more room for passengers and cargo than the regular Yukon, and that makes it especially useful if you need a spacious third row or substantial hauling capacity.

You should also expect the tradeoffs that come with a truck-based SUV: a less refined ride than a car-based crossover and a larger footprint that can feel cumbersome in tighter spaces. If those compromises fit your needs, the Yukon XL’s combination of size and utility can make sense. The market shows 28.0% of listings as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2014 GMC Yukon XL reliable?

The 2014 GMC Yukon XL is built around a traditional body-on-frame layout with a solid rear axle, which supports its truck-like durability and heavy-duty usefulness. Its design emphasizes strength, passenger space, and cargo capacity over car-like refinement, so it is aimed at buyers who value capability and room.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that a large, truck-based SUV can be costly to keep in top condition if prior use or maintenance has been neglected.

What should I look for when buying a used 2014 GMC Yukon XL?

At 56.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and confirm whether any reported damage was repaired properly. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on the suspension, brakes, drivetrain, and signs of uneven wear, since condition matters a lot on a large SUV like this. Pay close attention to how the vehicle drives, how the cargo area and third row have held up, and whether the listing’s condition matches the asking price.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2014 GMC Yukon XL?

This is a moderate market, so you can be selective without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 28.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 396 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.37% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 56.1% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $10,631, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2014 GMC Yukon XL's resale value?

The current average of $11,042 sits slightly below last year's $12,183.

That tells you the market has moved lower, which can help you as a buyer today but may limit upside if you plan to resell soon. The softer pricing also suggests that future resale value will depend heavily on condition, mileage, and whether the vehicle has a clean history. If you buy carefully and keep the SUV well maintained, you can better protect its value in a market that has already cooled.

Should I buy a 2014 GMC Yukon XL or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2014 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2014 if:

• 28.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 56.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.37% compared with last year.

The bottom line: The 2014 makes sense if you want the combination of space, truck-based capability, and a lower used price than it carried a year ago. If you are especially price-sensitive, you may want to compare nearby years and focus on the cleanest, best-documented example rather than chasing the cheapest listing.
