Is the 2014 Ford F-150 a good car?

Generally — the 2014 Ford F-150 earns a 4.4/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its power, reliability, and comfort, and many also like the feature content and overall build quality. The truck’s broad range of configurations makes it appealing whether you want a work truck, a daily driver, or something more upscale. Is the 2014 Ford F-150 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.4/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback highlights reliability, and many drivers describe the truck as dependable and trouble-free over time. That matters if you want a used full-size pickup you can count on for both daily use and heavier-duty ownership. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about the model’s reputation and more about how well a specific truck was maintained and used.

What should I look for when buying a used 2014 Ford F-150?

At 65.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report before you commit, especially if the truck has had multiple owners or higher mileage. Put inspection priority on body condition, signs of prior repair, and evidence of hard use, since those factors can affect both reliability and resale. A careful test drive and a pre-purchase inspection can help you separate a clean, well-kept truck from one that only looks good online.

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you stay disciplined.

If you find a listing below $14,866, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2014 Ford F-150's resale value?

The current average of $14,866 sits slightly below last year's $15,743.

That softer pricing can help you buy in at a lower cost, but it also means future resale gains may be more limited if the market stays flat. If you plan to sell later, condition and accident history will matter a lot, because cleaner trucks usually hold buyer interest better. Strong owner satisfaction can also help support demand when it’s time to list the truck again.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.4/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2014 Ford F-150 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2014 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2014 if:

• 30.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 65.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.57% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.4/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2015 if:

• At $17,491, the 2015 costs more than the current year's $14,866 average.
• It adds aluminum body construction and turbocharged power for a more modern feel.

The bottom line: If you want the better value today, the 2014 is the stronger starting point because pricing is softer and inventory is broad. If you’re willing to pay more for a newer-feeling truck with a more advanced design, the 2015 is the better upgrade path. For price-sensitive buyers, the 2014 is the one to watch first.
