Used 2014 Dodge Dart for Sale nearHouston, TX

How much does the 2014 Dodge Dart cost?

Prices have softened 5.08% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 378 listings available, which gives you a modest amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2014 Dodge Dart a good car?

Yes — the 2014 Dodge Dart earns a 4.5/5 user rating and a 7.2/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Technology at 10/10.

Owners consistently praise its stylish design, fun driving experience, and practicality, and many also call out its reliability. That lines up well with the Dart’s appeal as a small car that feels more sophisticated than expected, especially if you value in-car tech and a well-equipped cabin.

At the same time, the Dart’s strengths are balanced by some clear limitations, including a cramped back seat and unimpressive fuel economy. Even so, the market still shows 27.5% of listings as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2014 Dodge Dart reliable?

Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owners describe the Dart as reliable and practical, and some specifically appreciate it as a car they can count on for everyday use. The expert drive notes also point to a robust, stiff structure and a powertrain that is more agreeable than the earlier automated manual setup, which supports the case for dependable day-to-day operation.

The Dart’s first-year quality history was mixed, though, and some owners mention issues with components like the backup camera and window controls. For a used buyer, that means long-term ownership risk is manageable, but you should pay close attention to condition and verify that the car has been maintained properly.

What should I look for when buying a used 2014 Dodge Dart?

At 58.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a thorough inspection of bodywork, electronics, and interior controls. Because some owners have reported quality-control concerns, it’s smart to focus on how well the car’s features operate rather than just how it looks in photos.

A pre-purchase inspection should also pay close attention to the drivetrain, brakes, and any signs of uneven wear. If a listing looks especially clean and well documented, that can matter more here than chasing the lowest sticker price.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base Dart SE lacks lots of equipment, while the SXT adds the more powerful 2.4-liter engine, air conditioning, Bluetooth connectivity, steering-wheel stereo controls, premium cloth seat fabric, power door locks with remote keyless entry, cruise control, floor mats, aluminum wheels, automatic headlights, LED taillights, and several convenience upgrades. The GT adds a sport suspension, fog lights, dual exhaust outlets, 18-inch wheels, premium Nappa leather seats, heated seats, a power driver’s seat, ambient lighting, keyless entry with push-button start, and a reversing camera. The Limited adds touring-tuned suspension, 17-inch wheels, dual-zone automatic climate control, a heated leather-wrapped steering wheel, navigation, real-time traffic and Travel Link services, remote engine start, and a power sunroof.
• Powertrain: The 2.4-liter 4-cylinder is the main engine for most trims, while the Aero uses a turbocharged 1.4-liter 4-cylinder and is the most fuel-efficient version. The 2.4-liter is more agreeable than the earlier automated manual setup, but it is also described as less fuel-efficient and not especially lively.
• Safety package: The Dart includes 10 airbags and Ready Alert Braking with Rain Brake Support. A reversing camera is offered for most models, and the Technology Group adds rain-sensing wipers, rear parking-assist sensors, automatic high-beam headlights, and a Blind-Spot Monitor with Rear Cross-Path Detection on the GT and Limited. Those features are not standard on the SXT and Aero.
• Infotainment: The available Uconnect 8.4 system uses an 8.4-inch touchscreen with crisp graphics, large touch-sensitive buttons, and intuitive operation. It also includes power and volume knobs plus a tuning knob, and it can be paired with navigation, real-time traffic, weather reporting, Travel Link, and a mobile Wi-Fi hotspot.
• Fuel efficiency: The 2.4-liter engine is described as unimpressive on fuel economy, with the expert drive noting 27 mpg in combined driving as the EPA estimate and 25.3 mpg observed in testing. The Aero is the more efficient choice, but the car overall is not a class leader here.

Which 2014 Dodge Dart trim should I buy?

The 2014 Dodge Dart is offered in 5 trim levels: SE, SXT, Aero, GT, Limited.

Here's the short version:

• SE: This is the least expensive way into the Dart, but it lacks lots of equipment, so it makes sense mainly if you want the lowest entry price and plan to keep expectations modest.
• SXT: This is the best-value trim because it adds the stronger 2.4-liter engine plus a long list of comfort and convenience upgrades, including Bluetooth, cruise control, aluminum wheels, and automatic headlights.
• Aero: Choose this if fuel efficiency matters most, since it is the most fuel-efficient version and gets the turbocharged 1.4-liter engine along with extra tech features.
• GT: This is the right pick if you want the sportier personality, with a sport suspension, dual exhaust, 18-inch wheels, premium leather, heated seats, and keyless entry with push-button start.
• Limited: Pick this if you want the most upscale feel, with touring suspension, dual-zone climate control, navigation, remote start, and a power sunroof.

The Technology Group is worth seeking out on GT and Limited trims because it adds useful safety features at a relatively affordable price.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2014 Dodge Dart?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 27.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 378 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.08% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 58.7% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $6,568, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2014 Dodge Dart's resale value?

The current average of $6,683 sits slightly below last year's $7,040.

That decline suggests the Dart has softened in the used market, which can be good news if you’re buying now but less favorable if you plan to sell soon. A lower current price can help you get in at a better value, but it also means future appreciation is unlikely.

If you’re thinking about resale, the Dart’s value retention appears average rather than strong. That makes condition, mileage, and trim selection especially important if you want to protect your money later.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2014 Dodge Dart safe?

The 2014 Dodge Dart earns a Top Safety Pick rating from IIHS and five-star ratings from NHTSA.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

The Dart comes with 10 airbags and Ready Alert Braking with Rain Brake Support, and a reversing camera is offered for most models. The Technology Group adds rain-sensing wipers, rear parking-assist sensors, automatic high-beam headlights, and a Blind-Spot Monitor with Rear Cross-Path Detection on the GT and Limited.

One caveat is that the Dart misses out on a Top Safety Pick+ rating because it does not offer an available forward-collision warning system. Even so, its crash-test performance and available driver-assistance tech make safety one of its strongest selling points.

Should I buy a 2014 Dodge Dart or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2014 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2014 if:

• 27.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 58.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.08% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2014 brings improved powertrain behavior and strong safety tech, including a Top Safety Pick rating and available advanced driver aids.

Consider the 2015 if:

• At $6,784, the 2015 costs more than the current year's $6,683 average.
• It adds a Blacktop appearance package to SXT trims.

The bottom line: The 2014 is the better value if you want the lower average price and strong safety credentials. If you’re willing to pay a bit more for a newer model year with a small styling update, the 2015 is the secondary path.

How does the 2014 Dodge Dart compare to the 2014 Ford Focus?

Our experts score the 2014 Dodge Dart 7.2/10 and the 2014 Ford Focus 7.7/10.

The Focus has the edge overall, but the Dart counters with a stronger safety story and a more tech-forward cabin. You’ll also find the Dart slightly cheaper on average, while the Focus offers a bit more inventory and a slightly better accident-free share.

If you care most about infotainment and available safety tech, the Dart is the more distinctive pick. If you want the higher expert score and a slightly cleaner used-market profile, the Focus is the safer all-around bet.
