Is the 2014 BMW 6 Series a good car?

Yes — the 2014 BMW 6 Series earns a 4.7/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Is the 2014 BMW 6 Series reliable?

The owner feedback also points to a car that feels smooth, luxurious, and enjoyable to live with over time, with some buyers specifically calling out the more dependable 640 model. At the same time, maintenance costs are a recurring concern, so long-term ownership risk is more about expense than outright appeal for used buyers.

What should I look for when buying a used 2014 BMW 6 Series?

At 57.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report on every candidate and prioritize listings with clean records and consistent service documentation. A pre-purchase inspection is especially important here because this is a premium performance car, and condition can vary widely from one example to the next. Focus on maintenance history, signs of prior bodywork, and whether the car has been cared for as a luxury grand tourer rather than just driven hard.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2014 BMW 6 Series?

This is a moderate market, so you can shop selectively without expecting a deep buyer’s market.

• Deal availability: 32.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 219 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.19% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $15,472, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2014 BMW 6 Series's resale value?

The current average of $15,735 sits slightly below last year's $16,253.

That tells you the market has softened, which can help you buy more confidently now but may also limit short-term upside if you plan to resell soon. For a future seller, the key takeaway is that value retention will depend heavily on condition, mileage, and maintenance history. Well-kept examples should hold up better than neglected ones, especially in a premium car where buyers are sensitive to upkeep.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2014 BMW 6 Series or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2014 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2014 if:

• 32.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 57.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.19% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: You should start with the 2014 if you want the core 6 Series experience at a lower used price and you’re willing to shop carefully for condition. If you’re especially price-sensitive, a different year may give you more inventory or a lower entry point, but the 2014 remains a strong choice when you find a clean, well-kept example.
