I know nothing about cars so I bought it for $7,900. Turns out it needed about $2000 worth of work. Tires and rims were JUNK, exhaust manifolds.. JUNK and more. He supposedly fixed ONE of the manifolds, keeping the car three weeks to do so. Then ignored me when i said car still making noise. I LEARNED the HARD WAY and traded the car already (at a substantial loss) . Buy a certified preowned from a reputable solid dealer. "

The car was already rated a “Great Deal” on Cargurus.com, so Barry didn’t budge much on the price, but I’ve found this to be the case everywhere. In the age of Cargurus, haggling is increasingly outmoded in the auto industry because dealers have to set good prices up front/online or people won’t even come in to browse. If I had any doubts about whether or not I was getting a good deal, Barry put it out of mind with his honesty and courtesy. He was a pleasure to deal with. As others have noted, the shop lacks the sterile cleanliness of official dealers, but remember this is an auto shop/used car dealer, you come to a place like this to get the best value for a car, not for a swanky experience. I did, however, experience buyer’s remorse, when I realized that I couldn’t fill up my car’s gas tank all the way. Every time I tried to fill it up, the pump would stop after filling it up about 3/4th of the way. The car also wouldn’t start right away sometimes. Barry gives all buyers a full service, 3-month warranty, but life got busy (my wife was expecting our second child), and I found myself in the last week of the warranty with persisting car problems. When I called Barry, he informed me that his shop was booked so he couldn’t get my car in that week, but he told me not to worry, and assured me that he’ll get my car in the following week and honor the warranty anyway. He was true to his word. He took my car in, accurately diagnosed the problem (even the mechanic was friendly and helpful), and expedited the repairs so that I could have the car back in time for my wife’s delivery. The car has been humming smoothly since then, and it’s been perfect for my growing family. I’m grateful to have found Barry’s Auto and I highly recommend them for both car purchases and services!"
