I brought a mechanic with me and had the bank on speaker phone (literally). After consulting with both of them, we all agreed that the vehicle was overpriced for the condition it was in. I was still willing to purchase it at a lower price and put the money towards repairs. The dealership did not agree to the price. This is normally where the story ends in a business transaction. However, the sales manager sent the salesman out to my car to ask me to come back in and speak with him. When I got inside, the sales manager proceeded to berate me in front of everyone, raise his voice at me and told me "why don't you go buy a car from your bank"!?! At that point he could not have paid me to take a car off of his lot! Not wanting to stoop to his level, I offered a smile and wished him a good day. Then I returned to my car where I apologized to everyone for wasting the entire day since it was an hour and a half ride each way. :("
