Overview

The Range Rover Sport is now in its second year of production. The Sport is Land Rover's first attempt at a performance-oriented SUV. For the 2007 model year, Bluetooth has been added as a standard feature.
There are two trim variations available for the Range Rover Sport: HSE and the more upscale Supercharged. The HSE includes leather seats, 19 inch wheels, dual climate control, a premium Harmon-Kardon audio system with 14 speakers and an in-dash CD changer, and a navigation system. The Supercharged adds 20-inch wheels and Land Rover's Dynamic Response suspension system. A DVD entertainment system is optional in the HSE and standard in the Supercharged Sport.
The two trims are primarily differentiated from one another by their power supply. The HSE is powered by a 4.4 liter V-8, generating 300 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque. The Supercharged Range Rover Sport uses a slightly smaller 4.2 liter V-8, fitted with a potent supercharger. Horsepower jumps to 390 and torque is now 410 pound-feet. Both engines are teamed with a six speed adaptable automatic transmission, which readjusts itself based on road conditions and driver behavior. Drivers can expect mixed driving gas mileage in the high teens for both models.

I like the commanding stance and look, the instant power of the supercharged V-8. The overall comfort and design of the inside. Plus the rear entertainment is a big plus with the children and the sound system is excellent. I won't lament about the fuel economy because I knew what it was when I purchased it.

grip of money just for parts and don't get very good gas mileage on this at all. Was not impressed with the leg room in the rear but pretty good size trunk space. Lack of a 7 passenger seating capability like the Range Rover LR3 does not bode well with large family. Overall, the good far outweighs the bad here. A little pricey, but worth every penny. The off-road experience is worth the price of admission.

I’ll just say this – something as tall and heavy as this car shouldn’t be able to go so fast! I had almost wet myself within the first 1km just as a passenger! It’ll have your eyes out on stalks with it’s acceleration, and any grown man will get aroused by the sensational burbling of that mighty supercharged V8. The other thing it does is handle – like a go-cart! Again, how does 2.5 tonnes go so fast and handle so well?? It’s because Jaguar provide the supercharged 4.2 litre V8 from their sports cars, and the suspension is a complex and brilliant combination of air bags and hydraulic anti-roll bars. You’ll pay for it though – it’s not cheap to buy and fuel will leave the fuel tank faster than you can put it in – but you’ll have a whole heap of fun doing it! Easily the fastest and best-handling car I’ve ever driven.
