2005 Mitsubishi Galant ES Review
by Matt

Nice sedan for the family man

This car was one that I rented when my car was being fixed. It was a very nice driver with a nice but somewhat futuristic interior. It was a very comfortable car to drive but was a bit hard to stop quickly. Also the engine sounded a bit harsh in comparison to other 4 cyl engines of its size. The engine felt like it had something to prove though. Wh...

Avg. Dealer Rating: (1 review) "Got a great car at a great deal. Took it to a mechanic shop for a pre-inspection before buying it ; need brakes and a radiator they worked with me and they did the work to the car installing new brakes and a radiator. The preinspection place told me other than that it was a great car. They had one of the best prices on a honda accord in 200 miles of my house so I drove 5 hour round trip to get my car it was worth the drive. I love it!"

Avg. Dealer Rating: (9 reviews) "DO NOT BUY HERE, their rating with the Better Business Bureau is an F for a reason...I ended up buying a 2008 Subaru Forester 2.5 X from Auto Market. They came right out and said this vehicle had been in an accident, and showed me the picture of it. After a test drive I figured the alignment was fine. I was enjoying my new car until I brought it in to my mechanic in VA. He showed me two bent frames in the rear suspension, as well as how the side of my tire was chewed up BAD from only 150 miles of driving. Now I'm not saying this dealer did this on purpose. George was a good dude and I have nothing against him. I am saying that the quality of restoration work performed on these vehicles is lacking. Once I called and mentioned the issue, I was sent Steve's way. Steve was the manager and the epitome of poor customer service. He said there was no way anything was wrong with that car, and that maybe I had done something like hit a curb. Great listener.....He offered me: 1. A buyback with a fee of $1500!!!!! (He said that would be the amount in fees he would have to pay to get the car back on the lot) or 2. Have his people look at it and he would fix what they found wrong. I decided to try to let them look at it, so I had the car towed to them so my tire wouldn't get chewed any worse. Steve recommended I drive it there for the record. So I get there and Steve isn't there yet, and George offers to take my car over to the service bay. I said that was fine and I'll come with to show the guy where the bends in the frame are. He said no one is allowed in their service area. I said I'd be more comfortable if I could point out potential issues so we were all on the same page. So I waited for Steve to get back and showed him the car, to which he replied that everything was fine. He said nothing was dragging on my tire. I honestly agree, I don't know what was touching my tire just by looking at it, just that it was happening while I was driving. Instead of also acknowledging that something weird was happening he put all this burden of proof on me. After seeing the car he agreed to buy it back for the price minus $500, and said he had had situations where people had abused cars and tried to bring them back, and that's why he had said $1500. Since I was getting what I wanted, which was to be free of this headache, I didn't point out how he had said before that the $1500 was for "fees". While I was waiting for my ride I saw another person with temporary tags coming in and trying to settle a dispute. All around terrible experience and a reminder that if a price sounds too good to be true, there might be a good reason for it. Had to wait for my refund check to clear before I could spread the word."

Avg. Dealer Rating: (23 reviews) "My first complaint is that there is no option in the review process for zero stars. Vesta, Inc. should not be allowed to hold a dealership license in Maryland or any other state. Check the complaints on the Better Business Bureau web site. I will be adding mine to the list. I was interested in the 2003 Mercury Mountaineer that was listed on the CarGurus web site. It was/is advertised as a V8 with 120,000 miles. Pictures on the web site show a clean leather interior, and I ran the Carfax on the VIN provided in the ad which showed a clean two owner car with immaculate service history. So I made an appointment with “Dave” to test drive the car. The “dealership” looks like a Tijuana chop shop. There is little or no customer parking as used cars are packed together on the lot literally four inches apart (check out the aerial view on Google Earth) and the shop and offices were dirty and disorganized. Ignoring my immediate reservations, I found “Dave” who led me to the 2003 Mountaineer, which was parked in a narrow aisle at the back of the yard. Despite the fact that I had made an appointment to test drive the car, I had to wait for it to be jump started and there was no way it could be driven as it was blocked in by other cars. When I looked over the vehicle, I found that it was not a V8, but a 4.0L V6, and the interior was dirty worn cloth, not leather. So I looked at the VIN number and discovered it was not the same as was advertised on CarGurus web site. At that point I realized I was being conned and left. When I got home I ran the Carfax of the “2003” Mountaineer and found that it is a 2002, not a 2003 as advertised. I would suggest that prospective car buyers give Vesta, Inc. a very wide berth."
