The midsize SUV has a 4.2 L, 275 hp I6 engine with 4 speed automatic transmission. In addition, the 2003 Envoy comes in 4 trims: SLE 2WD, SLE 4WD, SLT 2WD, and SLT 4WD. As for other specs, the 2003 GMC Envoy gets you 15-16 mpg in the city and 21-22 mpg on the highway. All trims have 4 doors and seat 5. Standard features include air conditioning, power windows, power door locks, ABS brakes, and cd player. As an added bonus, the SLT trim also have standard power and leather seats. Towing capacity maxes out at around 6200-6300 lbs. Overall, drivers like the options, interior design, and the engine power. On the other hand, reviewers feels that the 2003 GMC Envoy could use some improvement in its steering and handling. good car to drive and looks good ten years later has never let me down with the center console latch breaking being the only issue I have ever had. Would recommend the envoy for towing. It gets around good towing a ski boat and does top notch in the snow.

I liked the safety of the size of the vehicle but still felt like I was driving a car, not a truck. There were many features that made it so convenient - multiple DC outlets, charging electronics without having to keep the car running. Used the heated seats all the time. Comfortable seating with many different settings. Good-sized back seat and rear storage space. Did not like the location of the spare tire, but at least it was a full-sized tire, not a space-saver tire.

4.2L Vortec 4200 I-6 is one of the best engines I've ever had. Responsive, fast, comfortable. Performs well, hauls a lot.

Very reliable, runs and drives well. Mine has over 82K miles and runs, looks and drives just like the day I took it home from the dealer. It's not perfect. It is very hard on brakes and sometimes won't start on very cold days. Fuel economy is poor. However, on balance this is a very well built SUV and worth every penny.

Never owning an SUV before, I wasn't sure what to think of the Envoy. But It rides beautifully and I love driving it. If only it was a bit better on fuel.
